One of the things that I have noticed that so many writers include hyperlinks into their article yet do not know how to embed them properly. Today I came across the following in an article (and I will not include the link to this in order to protect the guilty)
“There are other websites that offer you money for simply chatting. For instance myLot is a chat/blog/social network which allows you to earn for every post you place. Here is the link for you to copy and paste and then sign up. It’s free… http://www.mylot.com/?ref=****“
The problem here is that I have to copy the link and past it into another web page in order to access the site in question. Surely it would be better if the reader just clinked on the link in question and hey-presto they arrived at the site.
There is NO Need to Copy and Paste!
When you are editing your text with the editor you will see a number of icons on the Triond editor, as shown in the following image:
![]()
Each of these has a different impact on the words that you write, but in particular there are two icons that are normally ‘greyed out’ that look like a chain and a broken chain, these are necessary for embedding hyperlinks into your text. So if I type the following:
“My most popular article to date is called “How Do You Make Money on Triond?“
When I highlight the text in question then the chain icon becomes visible and active. This is how it is possible to embed a hyperlink into your article and believe me it is far better than telling your reader to copy and paste, because so much can go wrong in that process.
![]()
Follow the dialogue and complete all components including putting in a description and it will ensure that links also maximise their ability to publicise the embedded article. I use this as an opportunity for self-publicity and that always helps you earn money on a site like Triond.
An Active Link Wins you Friends/Fans
Yes an active link does gain you popularity. Sure you must spend a few minutes editing your articles before you publish them, but you should always be on the lookout for reference material that can be quoted and/or linked to. For example if I make use of something from Tony Leather’s article “NOT Working Well” then I may quote it within the body of my text e.g.:
Tony Leather is of the opinion that “There has been a sea change with Triond in recent months“, blah, blah, blah.
Tony may see this and fee free to quote something from one of my articles at some point in the future. The point is that my article may provide something of further interest to my reader and he can extend his reading on the subject with a look at that article.
Edit and Look for Promotional Opportunities
I have found it best to spend time editing your article after you have finished writing it. Firstly you should look out for spelling and grammatical errors. By the way there is a tool that will help identify spelling errors The icon has an ABC with a tick through it on the editor tools. Spelling and good grammar is always so important, it says to your readers that you care about the story you are telling.
Yet once the article is complete then you should think about opportunities to promote your own and other people’s work. Where you have used reference material then make sure you make a place for a link in your article; all that is needed is one word to embed the link against. Never miss an opportunity to refer to one of your own articles, whether it is on a paid site or on your own blog, each becomes a cross link that can increase the publicity for that site and ultimately increase its ranking on Google.
Remember that if you do not take the opportunity to cross link then Triond and its embedded advertising will – you get the first shot here, so make it count.
Google Ranking is Vital
For our articles to be widely read on Goolge then it is important that they rank highly, preferably first, but it not then on the first page in relation to the subject matter. Whatever may be said about Google an content farms it still ranks Triond based articles well, especially if you do a little SEO linking of your own. Remember that Google relies on cross-linking as a part of its ranking algorithm. so you put in a link to someone else and another person will reciprocate with a link to one of your articles.

thankx for sharing.
Good points to remember!
I’m going back and doing a lot of SEO work on older articles, and I am trying to be a little more SEO aware when writing as well. I think embedding links will be my next step. Thanks!

Helpful information. Unfortunately this is the kind of thing that I’m not good at. I’m still in the process of learning this.
Thanks for this information. I love this article.
Very good info and very well presented. It was easy to understand – anyone reading this article will understand how to do embedded links and understand why they need to do them.
Great advice. I do this but probably nowhere near as much as I could.
We finally come all the way down to the fact that one and all can profit from them, or you perhaps already want them.

I must say that I love you after reading this article. I have been asking this question to myself and had even asked another writer to write an article on this so I could learn.
