Have you even been wandering around the internet, and find too much information you DON’T need than what you do? Well, I have some tips for you. 

Google, comes up with a lot of results by far. It can be good, and bad. If you’re looking for something and there’s a lot of results, in all those results, there has to be at least something to reach your needs. Sometimes, it can be bad, because there’s sooo many results, that it’s hard to find what your looking for. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’m going to show you ways to narrow it down.

Well, let’s say you’re looking for a free website builder. You see to many “Trials” and “Buy” and “Downloads” and you want these results to stop. You can just go to Advanced Search, right next to the search toolbar. It’ll have a section where you can type in words you don’t want to see in the results. There, that’s better. You can also type in words that you want to see, and what exact phrase you may be looking for. You can also use MyWot (for Firefox) and it tells you which sites are safe or not. That’ll narrow it down, too. There are lots of scams and malicious sites out there, so be looking. 

Too lazy to click on advanced search? That’s okay. There’s a much easier shortcut.

For words you want exactly in the phrase, type “quotes” around them.

For words you DON’T want, type a -minus.

For words you want in the search phrase, but you don’t need it to be exact, just type the words. It’s as simple as that!

There is one downside though. Google only limits people to putting 32 words each search. So if you put too many minses, it’ll start ignoring some of your words.

Google, comes up with a lot of results. But are all the results safe? No. In fact, a lot of it’s results are not good sites. It’s not Google’s fault, though. Yahoo, comes with less results than Google in an average search, but it has safer searches.

But the big question is, what if you can’t find ANYTHING on the net? Well, you can go to the library, and do a little research. It’s hard to believe that the internet has billions of things on it but yet, some things you just can’t find.
