Adsense is not a miracle money maker, nor will adsense in itself make you any money at all.  The whole trick behind it is the sites that you put the ads on and the amount of traffic that you get to these sites.  The amount of traffic you receive is really the main factor as to how much money you will receive.

The people that make the big bucks that you hear about are people who usually have many different websites all with their adsense on them.  Either that or they made a couple that get TONNES of hits.  There are two main ways you can make a decent amount of money from adsense.

The first way would be to make new sites with others content (news stories etc.) and just give them the credit.  Essentially you are spamming websites, which if you know how to do this (as search engines will drop these automated sites) then you can start making $100+ a day fairly easily, assuming you know how the search engines work and you can keep these pages up. The people that do this go off the thought that the more content there is out there with their ads the more chance people will see it.

The second way would be to make a number of websites with unique content (your own content).  You can still make 50+ of these depending how much time you have on your hands but you don’t need to if you have good content that attracts many people.  Why do this?  Because these sites will stay and not get dropped off of every search site in existence.  Essentially, people will keep coming back assuming you keep your content updated and have a good website. The people who do this make it alot easier on themselves in the long run, only needing to update their site with a little new content now and again while all the while having visitors and making an income.

The main point is, you need traffic to your websites in order to make money!
