How to rank high in the search engines? This descriptive article will guide you through simply and provide all the general requirements required by Google, Yahoo and other search engines to help you, and all your articles (web pages) to perform well.
How to rank high in the search engines? This is the question? Well, for beginners this can be quite a challenge, not only do you need to know how to write a great article and hopefully people will read, but you also need to perform well on line in the search engines too. Unless you have access to an optimization tool you must follow a set of rules, otherwise you will find yourself with no traffic, back lost amongst all the other web pages, and if its money you are chasing, well no traffic = no money.
Now you’re thinking and scratching your head “Oh my”,”i can’t do this” well you can if you follow the system correctly. This article will teach you how!
Firstly you must have some relative keywords that you may have found from the Google adsense tool or a similar program. The key is to find the relative keywords with low competition and a high search volume! But that is whole other article. Today, we are talking about page optimization and how to place well in the search engines, because you have created a page that is read well, and accepted by the search engine spiders (Software robots that “crawl” Web pages, gathering information for search engine databases. Also known as search engine crawlers)
A general web page consists of
- File name- the URL address website address you give your website or web page example: www.apartment-gardening-homes.com(my number 1 ranking website in Google for apartment gardening)
- Page Title- this is the title of the page that people will read when searching on line.
- Keywords- these are the relative words and phrases that are placed within your article (web page) to help you get found, and ranked the Search engines such as Google, Yahoo etc.
- Description – describes about your web pages content.
- Headline – the headline is at the start, at the top of every page.
- Page – this is where you add your content such as written paragraphs, titles and photo’s and links.
How do I optimize a web page?
As you have read above a web page consists of a file name, page title, keywords, description, headline, page and links. The trick is all these need to perform well together, and match to the relative keyword or keyword phrases.
I will use this article as an example!
(This web page (article is called) How to rank high in the search engines. This is the relative keywords phrase; I am not exactly sure how well this page will perform as I did not do the research for this article to see if people are searching this keyword phrase. The intention of this article is to teach my students and hopefully others who may stumble across this article, or pass it on to friends.)
1. Example: The page file URL http://web.com/how-to-rank-high-in-the-search-engines/
2. The next step is the page Title. The page title must have the relative keyword phrase it the title. Example: How to rank high in the search enginesand obtain a Google ranking!
3. Keywords; how to rank high in the search engines, traffic, money, no traffic, search engines,
You can see above I have used a set of keywords phrases that are already placed throughout my article.
4. The description must also have the same relative keywords that are in URL, Title, Headline and page. In this example the keyword phrase is how to rank high in the search engines
5. This is the main headline and should also have the main relative keyword phrase as in the URL File etc.
6. The page will consist of all your relative keywords as well as your relative keyword phrase.
Rules to follow: Always place the relative keywords or keyword phrase in the first part of the sentence. Never place it again in the first 100 words. Place the phrase throughout the article approximately about 6-7 in the content, headings and links.
If you use the amount of relative keyword below this, the search engine spiders may not understand what you are talking about, or how to place your page in their directory. If you use over 7% the search engines may think that you are trying to trick them and so place you lower or not at all in their company search system.
As you can see I have used the name of this article through my content and have highlighted it where it is placed.
I will also add a link below which will match my relative keyword phrase and by providing this link to a quality article or page of the same reference will also help with my own page ranking.
Conclusion
Match everything together using the same relevant keywords or keyword phrases URL, title, keywords, description, headline, page, content and links. Upload your page or article and check its performance in about 5-7 days. If it is not performing well you may need to make some edits and remove or add some keyword or phrases.
Tip: Do your research with the competition first before writing an article. Write a similar article on Hubpages orSquidoo and add a quality inbound link, this will also also help with your page performance.
