There are many things you can do to improve your chances of being among the first in Google search. Follow these steps to get a higher ranking:
1. Register to social bookmarking sites such as www.delicious.com or www.stumbleupon.com. Once you register, you will be able to share all the links of your articles. It’s best to register for many different sites because it will improve your chances. Why are the links important? Google lists the websites in the search results by how many other websites link to them. The more links are pointed to your article, the more likely it is that you will be first in the ranking.
2. Use a lot of tags when you publish your articles. If you don’t have any tags then it’s impossible for people to find your article. You can’t really have too many tags, so don’t worry about having too many. The more tags your article has, the easier it will be for people to find it. You shouldn’t use irrelevant tags though, because people might get annoyed that your article pops up no matter what they search for.
3. Make sure that not many people have written about the same topic. If a hundred people have an article about the same topic then it is very unlikely for your article to be among the first.
