Google is going to launch new music service. It is preparing to compete with iTunes with this big music search service.

Internet giant Google announced on Wednesday, a music search service on the web that will include access to purchase songs and the main reason is to try to compete with iTunes from Apple, U.S.

The California company will present pages with pictures, news and information of recording artists. The service will be similar to how companies get individual pages on the financial news service from Google.

The sale of the contents will be made through companies specializing in web and they are Lala, and iLike, the latter owned by News Corporation, which owns MySpace.  Labels like Universal, Sony, Warner and EMI suggested this idea to Google a year ago and cooperating with the project that is proposed as an alternative to Apple’s iTunes, business leader of music downloads on the net.

The income from commercialization of songs will go to the music producing and selling websites, while Google will get revenue from advertisers who advertise on their search pages. This passage from Google comes at a time when CD sales continue to fall sharply despite the fact that digital downloads of songs are on the rise.

Also Google is preparing to launch a phone itself, which would be offered to consumers through retail outlets.  The company already has partnered with hardware companies to develop the product, which would have the software technology Android, launched by the browser.
