Google has recently launched its own automatic music search engine, find out more…
Onebox is Google’s attempt to providing searchers with immediate music content. Onebox provides immediate music and songs through Google’s web search page.
Now, when a user types a music related search through Google, Onebox will automatically show at the top of the list with immediate song streaming through Google’s search engine. Currently Google Onebox is only available in the U.S., but will gradually roll out.
The Onebox search will immediatly identify any song in link with the search and will link it to a music database for streaming like Rhapsody.
Onebox has two music databases which are iLike and Lala. iLike is a music provider that is well-known is social networking sites like Facebook, Lala which is owned by Myspace, offers more than 7 million songs at about 10 cents a peice.
Market analysts predict that soon Google will have its own music database and will not be needing to rediret to a music site.
With Onebox Google enters in competition for the online music industr against Yahoo which has had a similar engine for a long time and most importantly iTunes the most popular such site.
