Google Network Camera Trick

Search Engines

A cool trick that allows you to view the world through various network cameras accessed via Google. A great experience for any age.

Google Away

First, either navigate to Google.com or use the Google search bar provided by some popular browsers to search for “viewerframe? mode=” without the quotation marks. This will bring up thousands of matches, many of which will allow you to access unsecured network cameras from all around the world. Many of the matches will direct you to sites containing the same information you are currently reading, which sort of defeats the entire purpose. The pages you want will be labled “Network Camera SomeNetworkCameraName” where “SomeNetworkCameraName” is replaced by the name of the camera on the other side of that link. Sometimes the camera name will be in Chinese or Japanese, but this does not affect the image or the camera itself; these links will work fine.

“INURL”: Not Needed

Many sites will tell you to search for “inurl: viewerframe?mode=”. However, there is such a vast number of sites instructing you on this search that they cover up the REAL bounty and you are unable to access the cameras. Stick to the search I have provided for best results.

Variations

The identifier “mode=” identifies a “mode” for the camera, the most popular of which is “motion”. Alter the search so that “mode=motion” for different cameras.

Have Fun

This trick allows you to visit interesting places all over the world in real time. I’ve watched Japanese tennis players, a Chinese airport tarmac, various places of business, and even a small recording studio in my searches. The possibilities are endless, and yes, it is perfectly legal. So have some fun, and see what you can find.
