Ghost is the best online operating system so far and I believe Google is going to compete with it but so far Google is just an imitation of Ghost with it’s new operating system.
What could Google do to become more like a reliable online computer?
- Google could make a version of it’s search engine and turn it in an online desktop.
- First part is easy. They already have the iGoogle but there is still a long way to go before making it useful. This is is easy too. Google could offer some storage space shared with Gmail. They would not have to purchase any extra hard disks to make it possible.
- They could offer a file sync program so we could send our loved files directly to their cloud. Google is the company that talks more about cloud computing but they are not doing all the things they could be doing.
- If they want to go to the next level, they could start by offering people ways to search both the search results, with virtual folders or labels so we could search again with a click instead of having to type it all again, much like Windows Vista has virtual folders.
- To make things even easier for us, they could offer a way to save the pages we like the most in a special place in their cloud and we would access those pages just like we access a folder.
- To finalize they could make a dynamic search engine just like you have in Gmail. The page is super fast because it’s not refreshed like it is on Google normal search.
