Gmail

Google was at first way behind yahoo and hotmail with the amount of users they had, but now google mail has caught up and his fighting hard against its opponents. Providing the most storage space (which regular users will actually never need), tagging, IM integration and a lot more, Gmail receives full grades in about everything. Only negative side is that google itself has less popular services than yahoo or windows.

Windows Live Mail

Hotmail (now Windows Live Mail), was once the king of all the free e-mail hosters. Things have changed now and since g-mail is generally so much ahead of windows live mail in terms of quickness and storage space, windows relies on its other quality services (especially Windows Live Messenger Messenger)

Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo Mail is a bit less unknown in some parts of the world, but in terms of users it is in the lead. Yahoo has such a wide range of other services that they have to offer (e.g. Flickr) that it gains many users from these sources. If you look at how the mail itself functions, it’s no worse than gmail.

So which one should you pick in the end? Well it’s pretty much up to you which one you want to choose. Gmail and Yahoo! Mail are the more recommended once and offer more than Windows Live Mail. Choosing between these two is your own opinion, but swapping from Yahoo! to Google (or vice versa) is not necessary since they are so equal.
