They say writing articles is one of the best ways to improve your SEO or search engine optimization. Here’s why I learned along the way.
Ever since I started trying my hands on making money online, I came up with tons of ideas preferably from successful, shall I call them businessmen online? Everyday as I scour for opportunities to work from home and make money on the net I learn new things and eventually I found out about clickbank and affiliate marketing. But I’m not that good in marketing and it seems success for me is elusive.
But I don’t easily give up, you see? As I dig deeper into the minefield of online income ideas, I found a little diamond called article writing in conjunction with affiliate or internet marketing.

Although I’m not yet very good at it, but writing is something I can do better compared to web designing, photography, cooking, etc. etc. As I read marketing tips left and right I learned about Ezinearticles. So, off I went to try submitting my first articles. Unfortunately though, the first two failed to get a green light. Still I didn’t give up. I lurked here and there observing how they do it and here’s what I found.
6 Steps to a better SEO
1. They write an article on Ezine and point the reader to their blogs where the affiliate links are placed. Obviously, Ezine does not allow affiliate links on the articles submitted to them. Why Ezine? They say google loves Ezine.
I must testify to this since my articles really appeared in the top google search results after being published on ezine. But that is not a guarantee it will stay up there and here’s the next step.
2. Once the article on Ezine is published they then submit the same article to hundreds or probably thousands of article directories but at the bottom must say that the article was originally published on ezine and then they link back to their original article source. Apparently, the more backlinks an article gets, the longer it stays in the top search result.
3. Choose a sitename that can be easily found by google and it doesn’t matter if it is long. Example if your site is about writing articles and affiliate marketing then say www.writingarticlesandaffiliatemarketing.com. This way, the title of your posts is connected to the name of the site and therefore it’s easier for google to find it.
4. To get the blog or site indexed and crawled by google, they say you have to submit a sitemap. I think I learned this from Ewen Chia. Well, I did try it and surprisingly, my 2-week old blog with only 3 posts was indeed indexed by google within a couple of hours.
5. If you are using Blogger.com, you can improve your google ranking by tweaking your blog title tags. You can find more information, visit EBlog Templates for the instruction.
6. Last but not the least is submit your site to google, yahoo, and msn directories. Although google crawls the web there could be a chance your site is missed especially if it is new. Example to submit your site to google, go to Add your URL to Google
So far these are the top 6 ideas I find very realistic and successful.
