Get paid through Paypal and generate a passive income. Written for new and existing writers who use or are considering the Triond website.
I am a new writer on Triond and after just a few days I can see a small balance ( a few cents) in my account pending payment. I am delighted to see this indication since my newly published article was only visited by me, as part of my submission task to other sites.
It really is a breath of fresh air, after ploughing through so many fake sites and obvious scams.
I decided, on the strength of these very early findings, to outline the process I used for new users, which you can tailor according to your own situation.
Step 1: Joining Triond
Triond offers payment through Paypal which is important to me as I live in China. Another attraction for me is that I can use a pen name, and write consistently according to my true instincts ,without fear of colleagues or friends being aware that I have finally decided to start writing (I’ve been saying it for many years).
Step 2: Choosing Your First Article Content
Perform a search on Google for ‘most popular searched’, the links shown will definitely provide some inspiration.
Step 3: Write your article, adding research info as you do it. When writing, bear in mind that ultimately, you are writing for the web, and you need to write accordingly.
Repeat the phrases/words that you wish to show up in searches, and which reflect your earlier ‘most popular searches’ research. Yes, I just repeated what I see as a key phrase
.
Your title is important as it will determine (in conjunction with content and keywords) how you site shows up in search engines
Step 4: Submit your completed article to Triond.
I would recommend that you use the online editor submission option as you can control the title, description and tags for your article. I don’t doubt the skill of the Triond staff in any way but it will speed up your submission. Treat this part of the submission in the same way you would add the HTML info in normal webpage creation tasks. If you are unfamiliar with this process then please ignore it and just submit your file attachment instead.
Step 5: Promoting your submitted article.
Once you receive Triond confirmation that your article has been successfully published then you can start promoting it further.
My approach suits me: I don’t have a large network of friends in social networking sites, and I’m not prepared to devote time to expanding them. I use them for business only, and as a result will not spam them with what is currently a new hobby.
I have selected the ones that will work for me…..
In addition I am not concerned with creating a blog and all the work involved in updating and keeping it fresh, attracting visitors etc. Triond and its affiliates have performed this task and I am happy to share the revenue generated by my articles with them
It would take a long time to generate a similar traffic level on a new blogsite.
Please go to htpp://www.sharethis.com and install the bookmarklet they supply. This will allow you to choose which sites you will share your published article with. Some shown are just Bookmark Managers but if you need one then please use them (I have my own system).

After choosing 6 sites from the dropdown list on the installed toolbar, I submitted my first article yesterday. Within 1 hour, Digg, Stumbleupon and Gomestic.com (who published the article) were showing it in a Google search (on the top of the 2nd page). This is very impressive, as through experience from submitting my own business website, it takes weeks at times before showing up in results.
The other 4 sites I chose are Kirtsy, Mixx, Buzz and Propeller and I am optimistic that these will show up soon. If your articles are technical ones then add Technorati etc but you need to check all of them for your self.
One submission is all that’s needed , repeated submissions from the same account will result in the Triond site being banned from Digg or other sites (see comment from R J Evans below), so no spamming please.
In addition install the Triond toolbar for submitting future articles. By using Firefox you can control all submission aspects of your article.
Step 6:
As indicated previously I believe that Triond and its affiliates perform admirably when the Google results for your tags etc show up prominently within an hour or two.
In other words ,your positioning in Google Searches is determined in a large way by the content you submit (the Title, description and tags). Once you share your article with Digg,Buzz etc you can check your preferred search engines for inclusion. If after several weeks ,your article does not show up at all, then manually submit the URL for inclusion. I would recommend that submissions are concentrated on search engines to begin with or with trusted directories. Do not use the free submiturl links ,submit directly yourself since many free link submission services just generate spam.
Note: When submitting your published content you are always submitting a recommended link as you do not own the websites involved. You cannot ,at any point, claim to be the owner of the website, who publish our content . As all parties involved, us, Triond, and the eventual publisher of my article all benefit from additional traffic, I don’t believe there can be a problem as long as viral marketing/fake traffic generation techniques are not used. Use of such techniques will result in Triond account termination.
I hope the above information is of benefit to all freelance writers who are considering writing with Triond. I will update this article again in one month and provide updated findings to you all.
My first article was in the region of 900 words and professional newspaper rates would be 5c a word. If my article makes more than $45 dollars over time then I would consider Triond a success – we shall see what happens!

Interesting article, good to see you on Triond. One note for newbies though – do not overdo sites such as Digg etc as you will get blocked. One Triond site is already blocked on Digg, we do not want any more going that way!
I would also always suggest that people write under their own names. Who knows when you will need to prove to potential employers in the future that it is indeed your own?
Thanks again for an interesting read!

Good insights I like your point about gauging which topics are popular before writing an article. Good advice we can all put to good use.
