Money Making

Just a quick writing about purchasing domains for the purpose of re-selling them to make profit.

So I am the type of person I have always tried my best to find different ways to add to my yearly income. Lately I have been looking into purchasing domain names in hopes to re-sell them to make profit. Now while my portfolio of domain names is small, I recently purchased the name imadrunkard.com in hopes that someone may want this name and maybe can develop the site to suit there needs.

Now not knowing if this name really has a purpose for someone I can see a few options open for the name. Mainly being a site which has a chance to promote alcohol or beer products, its probably also possible for the name to be used for a anti-alcohol campaign.

Now there is also a chance to further develop the site, in hopes that once it has grown, that the re-sell price can be even higher. I mean look at a site like myspace.com which was developed and re-sold for $580 Million!

So I guess it also depends on your goals on how much you want to make profit, compared to how much work & effort you will actually put into the domain itself. You can buy a domain name and put it straight back in the market-place, or you can buy a domain and develop the site to try and make a larger profit.

So it makes me curious if virtual property ownership can really be a good money maker.
