Unpaid Ghostwriter: Published on Triond Instead

Money Making

I was an unpaid ghostwriter, making close to around 60 articles which were left unpaid, here is what I did.

I started freelance writing about seven months ago.  Eager to enter the fray and get my feet wet I started with getafreelancer.com.  Slave labor for writers.  I did rewrites of 400 words for $0.80.  The nice thing about that is that I got paid.  Yes my first freelance work ever paid off and the person I worked with was very nice.

However I got to writing for two others who gave me some deadlines and about 60 articles to write.  At my rates it was about $400.00 dollars total.  They have not paid for them to this day.  Then I found out about Triond, and decided what the heck, I’ll publish my unpaid articles on Triond, I worked hard for them, and it’s a lot better than getting nothing for them at all.

Lo and behold, a large number of my articles were already published either on ezine or other article sites.  I checked them, and they did not change one word or edit what I did.  I guess it was in a way inspirational because it meant that I wrote well enough for them to retain everything as I had written it.  But they had their names on it, and they got it for free.

I had about 30 articles rejected because they said I submitted duplicate content.  Yes, I had the exact same words online already.  I should have thought of publishing on Triond sooner, but I was still hoping to get paid on some of the articles.  I guess being too good and too nice sometimes will get you into trouble.  This was one of those instances.

Now I am more careful about ghostwriting and doing freelance work.  It was a lesson well learned, and something I do not intend to repeat.  For those wanting to try ghostwriting, it is fun, especially if you like to write.  But be careful as there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there, and I was one of their victims.

Thanks again Triond.  Although I just earn a few cents, at least I get the recognition I deserve being published under my own name.

At lease at Triond you do get paid and publishing your work is easy. Now you know what you have to do. Good luck and welcome to Triond.

I started as a ghostwriter a over a year ago too. But now I only cater to one client who pays me for rewriting at 2 cents per word.

I had experienced not being paid too. One was my first and last client on elance. He owed me $90. Another one is a former GAF client who did not pay me for the last project I completed for her.

I have several articles here too, and also write for Helium, AC and HubPages. I have several on Writinghood, Healthmad and Authspot.
