Before November 28, 2008, I used to think that there is no such thing like “earn online”. But on that day, my mind changed suddenly when I got my payout from a site to my paypal account. In about two days, I got the money transferred to my bank account and I had the money in my hands.

I used to search a lot about earning online and which ever site I joined, turned out to be a big scam. I was so much disappointed and left the idea of earning online. Last year, when I was searching something in the communities of orkut, I came across a thread which described a website and gave a link to his blog. I clicked on it, read it completely and thought ‘let’s give it a try’. It was a paid to post site. From there I got to learn about other sites and this was the beginning of my online earnings.

Now I am going to share my experience with you. There are many way to earn online:

1. Paid to Post (PTP):  This is the first category in my list because I had joined this type of genuine site first. In these types of sites, one has to start a new discussion or comment on an existing discussion. Every site has a minimum number of sentences or characters which you must type in order to get credit. When you start a new discussion, then your earnings will depend upon the number of responses the discussion gets from others. In case of commenting or respond to others’ discussion, you need to get more detailed to get more. So, start a discussion which you think will get more number of responses. In many cases, the responses one get is zero. Do not get disappointed as this happens often. One must make more and more friends, so that, they will respond to your discussions. Try to make referrals, as you will get a portion of your referral’s income.
2. Paid to share files: There are many genuine sites which pay to share files. In these types of sites, one must upload a file (the file can be of any type: – .doc,.pdf,.jpg,.xls,.ppt and so on). The key is that you have to upload your files to the host server and post the links to some sites where you think it will be clicked by others. The most common place is blogs, forums and yahoo answers. There are many people who request for some files, music or videos online. You can upload the requested file by doing some search on net and post the link where necessary. The more the number of downloads the link gets, the more you earn.
3. Paid to write articles: In these sites, write articles and see your earnings building up. The more you write, the more you earn. In these types of sites, earnings depend upon the number of visitors to your article. One advantage of these sites is that, your articles quickly get indexed in search engines. So, it is advantageous to write more and more articles, so that after a few days or months, the earnings are automatic. Also, members of the site visit other’s profile, their articles and comment and rate them. This also increases the income. So, help other members and you will get help from others.
4. Paid to click (PTC):  Theses sites consists of some ads which you have to click. Each site has a fixed time for which the ad must remain open. It may be of 30 seconds or so. At a time, more than one ad must not be clicked. In these types of sites, a lot of referrals are required in order to get sufficient amount of money in less time. The ads reset every 24 hours. In order to get paid from referrals, the ads must be clicked by the referrer also. Otherwise, even if the referral clicks the ads, the referrer will not get paid.
5. Paid as a publisher: Some sites allow showing ads on the publishers’ website. The website may be a blog also. To get accepted in these sites, at first make a website or blog and after posting some contents, start promoting it, so that you get a decent amount of traffic to your site. Now apply as a publisher. They will give you some code. When this code is posted in the site, then the ads show up. When someone gets to your site and clicks on the ads, you get paid. But be careful, don’t click on your own ads and don’t ask others to click on the ads. You will get banned.
