Having listing different type of items on ebay for 3 years I decided to write a little about my experience on ebay.

First of all if you are looking to make lots of money or use ebay as your main cource of income I think you should better stop reading now since I won’t be able to make you a millionaire by just writing up this article.

It has become harder and harder to make a profit on ebay. As in the UK in March 2009 ebay had increased its final vaule fees from 5.25% to 10% which mean if you sell an item of £100 you are pay £10 for ebay + remember you have to also pay the paypal fees of 3.25% if you are accepting paypal payments.so in short if your item got sold for £100 you will be getting something like £85 at the end of the day.

I used to to buy lots of items off from ebay at the right time and also sell it at the right time. What it means is normally there will be lots of people serving the net in the evening and weekend trying to pick up bargins and this is not the right time you should buy your items since you are fighting with thousands of other buyers. I usally go thought the list and see which item is ending in a wired time such as 3am in the morning or early mrorning like 7-10am. The secert is no one wants to bid on items early in the morning. And this is the right time for you to buy

As I have mentioned selling at the right time is very important. If you are lucky enough to win an item at a bargin price by buying at the right time then the next step is to sell it at the right time for you. Right time always mean Friday or Sat. from 7pm – 11pm, these times ebay have the heaviest traffic and millions of people are trying to pick up a knock off bargin there. The more the people sees your item the higher price it will go.

Apart from buying and selling at the right time I think selling items as buy it now listing is also another way to make good profit. The thing is that some people do not want to wait until the end of the aution and when they see an item they want to grab it right away. But by selling things at buy it now you have to make sure the are setting the price right. You do not want to set it too low where you can not make much profit and you don;t want to set it too high and no one is willing to pay for it.

Finally sourcing your items for sale. The main problem for everyone is where the hell we can get things cheap and sell for profit. Answer is China or India where you get get product for 10 times cheaper than here and sell them for profit. I am not saying you will be able to make 10 times profit since you will soon find out that the most expensive cost for you will be shipping the item to yourself as well as the postage cost for you to send item to your buyers. Drop shipping is another way to do business. Find a reliable suppier and you do the adtising on ebay and after you get pay you pass the information to your suppier and they do the shipping for you. Drop shipping is really a no risk business since you do not have to stock any items. You just advertise different products and as there is a buyer nd they will have to pay you first before you past some of the money to your supplier and you keep a little profit.
