The Dangers of Blogging for Money

Money Making

Somethings you want to stay away from when you are 1st starting a blog.

Making money on the internet can be very appealing.  It can be fun, easy, and you get to do it all without having to the comfort of your own home.  The problem is that when most people start out, they get this idea that they are going to me making millions their 1st day when the fact of the matter is that most people won’t even make a few dollars for at least a month.  That is why when you start a blog, money really needs to be the farthest thing from your mind.

I myself have fell into this boat, and let me tell you it’s not a great place to be.  I started up my blog to in order to show off my work a little bit, and then started another one that talked about the money I was earning.  In the last 3 months my writing blog LoaTW has made its way to PR1 and has over 25 readers while MMT has fewer than 10 readers, little to no comments, and the amount earned on it is crap.

Content is what sells!  If you want to make money off your blog you must realize that it will take a lot of work.  All that stuff that advertisers say about “earn 10 thousand in your 1st month,” is usually just a pack of lies.  Did they do it?  Possibly, there is a chance that they are that good, but why are they SELLING it to you, or better yet, those people that are GIVING IT AWAY.  Hard work is what makes money, not a get rich quick scheme, and anyone who tells you otherwise is just trying to make a quick buck.

If you want to make money off your blog make sure that you have good content.  Readership is the most important aspect of a blog, and if you don’t have anything worth reading why would someone stick around even if you are making an extra 2k a month?  Get friends to comment, use traffic exchanges, but get more people that think your blog is worth reading, and then, and only then, should you try to start making big money off your site.

Nice article Izzy. That’s the same thing I tell newbie call girls all the time. You can’t get to buy a car in just one week’s worth of lay. It takes time to build your client base. ;)

But seriously Izzy, just like anything worthy enough to call a Job, it takes a consistent form of effort. Not only that! People should be aware that not because 10s of thousands made money blogging, everybody can make decent money out of it. In the same way that there are Hookers, there should be Pimps and Customers too. Am I right? :)

Hahaha how true how true. It takes time to make money off a blog, and I am one person that is working my way toward it, but it’s hard. Still I keep on truckin’ and hope for the best.

Interesting article there, Izzy, and I agree with you; decent money is not made with a blog from day one, but can be built with time. I run quite a few blogs about various different subjects, and whilst I’m not making much money from them; I am seeing my hits increase as time progresses, and the blogs are gradually becoming more popular.

Be careful using traffic exchange sites though; if you’re running Google Ads then using traffic exchanges could get you banned, and the same goes if you’re running Project Wonderul ads.

Keep up the good work with your writing anyway, and carry on striving for success with the blogging.

Ya, I know what you mean… I have been pretty careful with traffic exchanges though I know plp that use landing pages, and I don’t see how that could get u ban. As for PW well…I can’t them to work on my blog lol, so I guess I won’t have that problem
