Learn the steps you need to get the maximum earnings possible from paid content sites.
If you’re on this site, you probably already know the deal with paid content. You write original content and in exchange for making money off you, various sites offer to split the advertising revenues with you. There are three major sites which do this, none of which are scams: Triond, Helium, and Associated Content. This article will give you the steps you need to get the maximum earnings possible from each.
- Check
Helium
. They have the most restrictions in that their articles must be an answer to a question. They are the least profitable, also, so you may just end up using their questions and debates for article ideas. -
Write your article. Make it at least 400 words and try to do a decent job on it. Write on something popular and interesting. Popularity of various search terms can be found on Triond’s homepage.
- Submit your article to
Triond
. They are the only site which requires that they have the first publication of your article. - Wait for approval. Triond should approve or reject your article within two days. Even if they reject it you can still submit it to the other sites.
- After you’re approved submit your article to
Associated Content
as non-exclusive, and to Helium. If you find that Helium and Triond don’t pay as much as you’d like, you can submit to Associated Content as exclusive. Be aware, however, that that means you can’t use that content anywhere else, ever. - DiY. If you open up your own blog and write about this experience of writing articles, or post your own articles, you may be able to meet the requirements of paid blogging sites and/or Google AdSense. With those gigs you have far greater earning opportunity.

Dear Samantha,
Thank you for your most encouraging article. As a result I have uploaded an article to Triond. Unfortunately the pictures have not “come through”, and the piece needs resubmitting. I cannot find anything on the net regarding this. I have used Microsoft Works and the images look fine when I open the file…
I need to know what specific sizes to submit and how?

These sites are by no means the only revenue-sharing writing sites. I have been disappointed in all the sites you mention, and now write for Hubpages, which I find far more profitable.
Like Triond, they want original content. You won’t be barred from posting something that has appeared elsewhere, but it will be flagged as duplicate and will be penalised in its Hubscore. That doesn’t really matter outside the Hubpages community – it’s more of a friendly warning, because search engines don’t like duplicate content so the article won’t earn as well as an original one.
