Money Making

Do you look in your closet and can’t find a thing to wear? Do you need a pair of pants or a stylish dress and your closet is already packed? Maybe its time to clean out all the clutter and make some money for the new items you need.

Here Are Some Easy Ways You Can Turn All That Clutter Into Cash:

  1. Craig’s List
: It has a section for closet clearing. Click on your region and then, “under for sale,” click on “clothes + acc.” Follow the instructions and you are on your way to cash in hand. Be as detailed as you can. If you have clothes in the same size, group them together in one post. If possible, include pictures. Accept cash only, and meet at a public place for the transaction. Never invite anyone to your home.
  2. Exchange stores are perfect if you want to exchange clothing for other items. They will trade or pay cash on the spot. Some of these stores also take CD’s, books and other items.
  3. Oodle.com
    is a good alternative for
    eBay
if you don’t like fees. You post your ad for free, with a photo on one of its local classified providers including
Lycos.com and PennysaverUSA.com. Bargain hunters near and far can find what you are selling.
  4. You might think that purple velvet couch cluttering up your basement is good only for the trash heap, but the college kid or young marrieds down the street might think it is really “cool” vintage” or “just in my price range.” Post flyers for couches, chairs, desks, and bookshelves on store bulletins near your house. The buyers will come get it, and carry it home.
  5. Books, CD’s, DVD’s and video games will sell at used books stores. The better the condition, the more money you will make.
  6. If you decide to go online with your items, check out
Half.com. It takes less time to fill out forms than eBay. Fill out the information and condition, punch a couple of buttons, and your stuff is there, ready for everyone to see. When someone buys your item, you will get an email telling you where to ship it to. Half.com charges a small sellers fee – 15 percent for orders under 50.00, but reimburses you for the shipping fee. The shipping is added to your profit which is deposited into your bank account twice a month.
  7. Hold a yard sale: Put a price tag on each item. Sell several small things as one item. Be sure to have plenty of change. You might talk your neighbor into bringing out her stuff and have one big yard sale. Be ready to sit outside. Have a comfortable chair and table with a box to keep your money, or wear a apron with large pockets.

Now you can breathe a sigh of relief, and make money every time you de-clutter your house.
