Money Making

Here are the steps you should take before becoming an eBay merchant.

Ebay is one of the most popular sites for merchants and customers out in the internet today. The website gets a humongous amount of traffic, and there is like $40 million dollars worth of trade occurring each day. What this means for all you sellers is that there is that there is plenty of opportunity out there for making a decent amount of money online. Even with this highly popular ecommerce site, people are not making the money they want to achieve. Why? They are not using ebay to its full potential.

Most people who are sellers on ebay either want to make a living off of it, need to sell the stuff that they don’t need, or just want to make a few extra bucks. If you fall into any category, you are fit to sell on ebay. Selling on ebay, however, is not very easy if you want to make a living off of it. You need to know a lot about a few things:

  1. How to keep the customer happy- If you want to start an ebay business, or want to make a living off of ebay, this is really important. Remember the saying, “The customer is always right.” Remember, you are supposed to work for them; they are not supposed to work for you.
  2. How to market your products- If you have a good product or store, and no one knows about it, how do you expect people will buy from you? You can’t. You have to learn what types of stuff a customer will click on. For example, will a customer click on the health ebook you are selling if you just title the item, “Health Ebook”, or will they click on the item, “LOSE 10 POUNDS IN TEN DAYS! AMAZING NEW EBOOK REVEALS HOW TO FLUSH THOSE POUNDS EASILY!” Of course they would click on the one that appeal to them.
  3. What people like- This is probably the most important point. You have to give the customers in your niche what they want and need. Only then will people start to buy from you. Let’s say you are selling Ipod touches. People will most likely come to your store to buy the itouch, not the accessories. This is why you make the itouch stand out instead of the accessories. You should still sell the accessories, but don’t publicize them too much.

Those are the three things you have to find out in order to sell your entire inventory. Ebay is not a place for little kiddy merchants or people that aren’t confident that their product(s) will sell. Even here, you have to do research in order to sell your stuff.

Good article with some sound advice because I wish to open an eBay business between this September or maybe the beginning of next year but I must disagree with you on one thing!
I quote your “kiddie merchants” and I am 16 (well nearly 17) and I still want to continue with setting up my business because I believe eBay is the place for me.
    Just joking.
