Learning the ropes writing for Triond and seeing my Triond article earnings increase.
I remember when I first got started with Triond. I came across the site one day surfing the net and thought I would give it a whirl. That was back in March of 2007. I submitted a couple of health articles and received my first Triond payment in April in the amount of $1.23.
Hmm . . . I thought. Well, it’s a little something.
I got busy and submitted another couple of articles so that by April I had 8 articles published with Triond. One of them, Physical Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression took off and my Triond earnings for June were $9.64.
Looking back, that should have really motivated me but with summer coming I got distracted and didn’t do much in the way of writing for a couple of months. While I was busy with other things, however, I continued to be paid on those Triond articles: July $2.41, August $3.24, September $3.42.
By October, I could see that the articles I had written previously were paying me monthly–even if Triond article earnings were still very small. I also knew that Triond was the real deal. While my Triond earnings were far from where I wanted them to be, I realized that if I started to submit articles on a regular basis, there was real potential to see an increase in earnings.
Around this time, I also discovered the Share feature with all the buttons for the bookmarking sites. One afternoon I got busy and signed up for most of those sites. As soon as I started bookmarking my articles, I saw a big jump in my views and earnings. I wrote Social Bookmarking Tips to share what I learned about bookmarking.
I got busy writing again and for October, my Triond payment was $4.50. The next month was even better! November saw an encouraging $18.88. At this point, I knew that it was time to take my Triond writing seriously.
From that point forward, I started linking to my Triond articles at every opportunity. I also discovered that I could include my Triond article feed, which would point to 5 of my Triond articles. I later wrote an article giving pointers on how to use the Triond article feed, How to Add the Triond Article Feed to Your HubPages.
I had the good fortune to have a couple of my articles make the hot content list and this really helped to boost my Triond article earnings.
I ended my first year writing for Triond more determined than ever to create good-quality articles and to eventually produce a large article base that would net me decent monthly Triond earnings. I saw that other writers such as Nelson Doyle and Kristie Leong also had grasped this concept.
I have to say, a number of other writers inspired me, as well. I read works that either made me laugh such as Windshield Gripers by Kristie Leigh Karns or I enjoyed wonderfully formatted articles with eye-grabbing pictures such as 10 Uses for Lavender by Emma-O. And I found getting to know other writers at Triond part of the whole experience. By now, I recognized familiar names cropping up in the Popular Writers section.
Once I had a year’s worth of articles published on Triond I was able to calculate average earnings per Triond article. This was very helpful because it helped me to determine how many articles I would need to write each day or each month to meet a yearly article and a yearly income goal.
I believe most Triond writers have a ceiling amount they would like to make each month. I’ve set my goal at $100.00 per month. I wrote a recent article, How to Make $100.00 Each Month Writing for Triond, which discusses Triond article earnings and how you can use those earning averages to plot a plan of action to eventually make $100.00 each month from your Triond articles.
For most people, their monthly Triond article earnings won’t replace income from their present jobs. For a couple of very prolific and motivated writers, they may have replaced their incomes. For me, I want Triond to become an income stream that is a nice little supplement to what I’m already making from my writing.
It has been encouraging to see how Triond has evolved and how authors have grown right along with Triond. I hope that most will continue to share their insights and continue as part of a great writing community.

Very interesting read, thankyou for the insights. It is good to read articles that introduce authors to new ways in making money for all the work they put in. I know myself that I spend so many hours writing and earlier I did post it always online for free, purely because of my limited knowledge of the internet. I am now learning how to get back atleast some small bonus on my online article writing and how to do it effectively by learning from others.
Thankyou for your great advice and all the help you give to others.

Hi Michael/Ruby,
I think setting goals helps to keep one focused. I find by keeping the end result in view, I produce more work each day.

Hi RJ,
The second year gets easier. I had already been writing keyword article before joining Triond so that helped.
Once writers find a number of writing opps. they are earning from, the next step is to look at what they are doing and see how they can expand on their efforts, thus growing their writing earnings over time.
