Many writers on this site have been asking the question; Can I make Money on Triond? The answer I believe is within each of us individually.
A visit to the Triond forums will reveal that a good number of people want to know how much and when other writer’s start making real money. Most of us admittedly would write even without pay, but there are those of us who want to use writing as a way to make a second income or even our main income. To those people, wanting to know if you can make money on Triond is a legitimate question.
While searching for a writing site I came across an article regarding Triond that stated that if you write two articles a day on Triond for an entire year you could start making about 100.00 a month. Only having been writing on this site for a few months I can’t say if this information is even remotely correct.
I do know that I once figured out that you would have to publish close to 4 articles a day that got 1000 views to make 120.00 dollars a month. I was not however, counting any passive income from previously published articles.
I do know that in my particular case having written somewhere in the vicinity of 100 articles on this site only one has got a 1000 views. So the idea of writing 4 articles in one day, let alone every day that gets a 1000 views does not seem to be in the realm of possibility.
Does this mean we should leave this site that we all love and join another site where it is easier and quicker to make money? Absolutely not!
While I would recommend that those wishing to make a decent wage writing on line write for as many sites as possible I would certainly encourage everyone to continue to write for Triond.
While making a decent writing wage on this site takes a lot of time and effort I believe it can be done. In my first three months here I made approximately $7.00 total. I will make close to that this month a lone and have every reason to believe my income will continue to grow.
There are several reasons why I have suddenly started making more income. Though to be honest what has occurred is not sudden.
I have begun to market my writing better. Some of this marketing has been accidental some deliberate, and some was done by other people and not myself.
Here is what I feel has lead to what I believe is the beginning of making money on Triond. First, the more I have written the more I have become known not only to the Triond community but to readers through out the Internet. Many times after a person has viewed several articles by a writer that they like they begin looking for that writers articles.
This is a slow process, but one that can mean a lot to every writer.
Second, I take the time to read articles by other writers on every writing site I am on, Triond included, and try to make helpful comments. In doing this, out of my own interest and not for the sake of views, my my Triond audience has grown. My first two months writing on this site, Triond visitors were my least frequent visitors to my articles. In the last two months members from this site have become my largest or second largest audience.
Third, I have tried to get my links out there on social websites and actively push some of my older articles to keep them getting views and thus earning passive income. This has also been a slow process but one that is starting to pay off.
Lastly I work hard at my writing and try to write articles that are interesting, informative or helpful. In doing so others have found some of my work of high enough quality to stumble them or submit them to sites like reddit or diggit.
But probably the biggest reason that my views and thus my income has begun to grow is because I have persevered with great patience publishing articles regularly, making changes to improve them when necessary, and keeping in the forefront of my mind daily that writing is a never ending process and each day we write we learn a little more.
While I set goals for the kinds of articles I would like to write and how many I want to write in a week I never set goals for how much I intend to make. I firmly believe if I consistently write well then the money will come.
Hard work and dedication always pays off. And like the story of the tortoise and hare, go slow and steady and your Triond income will grow.

informative. but $7 after a few months of genuine effort is not very encouraging…..

Time will sort out your earnings on Triond but you have to relentlessly persevere to build up a set of articles so big that will earn you a decent living but then it has to be sustainable. You do speak truly that eventually, it should pay off in the long run. Waiting doesn’t really hurt that much
Good article as ever!

This is definately a reality for me as I have gotten my $50 check in the mail. This was encouraging. Good article!!

Its nice when an article that was once popular and now is diminished, months later suddenly gets a few thousand views. This happens to me fairly often. At that thousand views is what, -$1.50 maybe? But it is residual and continual for it entailed no further effort on my part.
What DOES help when your article is several months old and no longer getting views, re-EDIT is to add more content, add another picture, change a HEADER or two… this is CHANGE and Google LOVES site content that ‘changes’ and they ‘re-index’ your site oftener. -Your work ‘floats to the top’ again…

Martie you have made some great points here. All triond readers need to read this. Well done!

Ha ha, I think I was the person who wriote the two article a day for a year article.
All your points above are spot on. You can grow your monthly earnings but it takes time, hard work, and a realistic attitude.
Linking ot your articles at every opportunity is so important so that your articles continue to spread out across the Internet and continue to net views.

Martie, I really think a lot depends upon what you are writing about. The more we write on Triond the more we can see what brings in views and what doesn’t. I have articles almost 3 years old that keep bringing in 100-300 views a month but most that old bring in nothing. I published just 6 pieces of content in August but made the most yet per month here
Find something that works and stick with it.

What you said is a possibilty. I know someone who makes about 150 a month. But he has nearly 500 articles
September 2nd, 2009 at 7:12 pm
My frequency is much less than yours. It could be an average of 10 articles per month. But that’s just my way of working, and I cannot recommend that to anyone. But writing more than 1-2 article per day is a no-no for me, even under the best of circumstances. Personally, I feel the quality suffers and the long-term importance of the article may be nothing.

I subscribe to the long view of earning money on Triond. Constantly publishing quality content regularly and interacting with the Triond community will lead to a steady, incremental increase in income. You cannot ask more from a site that lets you publish more or less what you want.

Good article. Nice way to encourage others/

You are really working very hard.

You are so right. It took me 18 months to receive my first paycheck from Triond, now they are coming quicker. I too had to learn how to market my work and I can tell the days I don’t have the time or I have to work a 12 hour shift, my views go down. Some articles seem to take on a life all by themselves and make money for me without me trying so hard. You never know what will take off. I was surprised my most money making article, Moonshine, had over 500 views in less than an hour after it was published and on the Hot Content List. It was a fun story I wrote for my pleasure and it continues to make a good deal of income even if I don’t work it. So you just never know.

That’s a good realistic approach, Martie. I am still new at this so can’t comment on how the sums add up but for sure Triond is not a road to quick riches.

nice one.. we just have to work hard..=)

This article is very encouraging. Quality of content and consistency in writing are the key factors for more readership and thereby more revenue out of our writing in Triond. The search phrase information that is available in Triond dashboard can give you an insight into what people are actively searching to reach your articles. When you write more articles for the keywords they are searching, you are sure to attract more people through search engines.

You know, if you work at McDonalds for an hour, you can make upwards of $7.00. What is wrong with you people? Do you have jobs? How many hours does it take to write 500 articles to earn $150? That would be like a million dollars at McDonalds!!! Just my 2 cents.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:41 am
Most of us have other jobs. Writing is for fun and relaxation and most of us want to see a little income grow. It isn’t completely about the money it is about doing what you love.
I know people who work at Mickey D’s and no one I know loves what they are doing!

I just signed up for Triond yesterday and I have 4 articles published. I have a total of 56 views but one of my articles has 40 views in 2 days. I can only assume thats good. However I have not gotten any money, how much views do you need for some money.
