A guide on the best, simple ways of making money with just the computer you use every day and the trusty Internet.
Undoubtedly, the best way to make money on the Internet is through scamming gullible people. But this is not only illegal but also immoral, and can be life destroying (losing all your money from one lousy e-mail is horrible).
There are other ways of making money on the Internet, here’s my shortlist of ones I’ve tried or ones I know work.
Online Ads
If you have your own free website on the net you undoubtedly have ads. Well, some free hosts don’t, but most do. Why do they do this? To make money of course. People pay ad companies to host their ads, gaining them revenue. The hosting companies get a percentage of the costs for hosting the ads.
But, if you have truly your own website, with no ads and the ability to add your own ads, it is a great way of making money so long as you get a decent amount of visitors to your website.
There are two main ad companies, Google and Yahoo. Both offer the same sort of ads, and both pay well. They often wait until your balance reaches a certain amount first though (i.e. $100) so you might be waiting a while for your first payment.
Web publishing sites
There are many sites out there that give you money for hosting your articles, pictures, etc, on the Internet, such as Triond. They pay an all right sum, it might seem low at first but think about it: it’s essentially money for just posting articles. This is a good way of getting money and combining it with step 1, you can post links to your articles on your own website to get the traffic.
Affiliates
This simply means hosting a link, be it a banner ad or just a text link, to another website, in return for something. Sometimes it is just a link back in return, but other times you get money in return, for essentially giving them revenue. It is similar to step 1, but often pays more because the payment isn’t shared between so many people and so many ads.
Online merchant sites
These are websites such as Amazon, eBay, and so on. Basically, it is like a market, where you sell your goods. If you have things lying around the house that you never use, you can sell them through these websites for money. They take commissions, often something along the lines of 20%, but in the end you are still getting money for selling things you never use anyway. I use this and have made quite a lot from this, selling old books and video games I never use any more. Again, combine this with your own website and add links to your auctions or items to get more people to buy them!
Making graphics and website design
If you are talented with a PC and have the right programs, you can make your own websites, graphics, etc, and people will pay you for them. One such way is computer game graphics. I myself am making an online game – and pay people to make graphics for me, so proof that people will pay you for graphics.
Conclusion
Well, that’s how to make money with the Internet. I hope you found this lengthy guide useful. If not then, well, maybe you’ll find a better way of making money.
