Money Making

Ever wonder how YOU can make money using Craigslist? Find out how!

Everyone wants to make a few quick bucks.  In this article I’ll tell you how you can do that using the popular online classifieds site craigslist  (www.craigslist.org)  although there are many ways to earn money using this great site, I’ll only be touching on three in this article. These include: the buy low sell high method, the repairman, and the gigs.  Two of these require minimal skillset while one is a little more advanced.

I’ll start with the easiest, the buy low sell high method:

Basically, this one requires a little bit of sorting through items. So, basically. You can surf around the for sale stuff on craigslist until you find something that is priced extraordinarily low.  This is better if you know a little bit about the category of things you’re buying from.  Ex.  You know a lot about bicycles so you buy bicycles…. you mainly only need to know prices though.   If you know something is priced too low and it can be bought and sold for a profit.  BUY IT.   For example, buy the item (say it’s a TV).  You buy the TV which is only 90 dollars on craigslist, but you know it retails for 350.  You can then buy the item and try to resell it. USING CRAIGSLISTMake a more detailed posting!.  Make sure you add a picture and a detailed description.  Maybe try and sell the item for 150-160.  if it doesn’t sell… Lower the price… craigslist is FREE… You can list it until it sells without losing a dime… eventually if it does sell, you make a profit… Start out with buying less expensive items, and as you get more experienced move up to bigger, more expensive items.

The second method requires minimal skills, but is slightly more time consuming.  There is a “Gigs” section on craigstlist.  under that section find the category that you believe you would be best at.. The categories include: Computer, Creative, Crew, Domestic, Event, Labor, Writing, and Talent.   The best gigs are the event gigs.  Usually when some kind of festival or big event is coming to town, they need people to do easy jobs at these events.  These jobs include handing out fliers, selling food, etc.  Regardless, Click on one of the categories and find a “gig” that you believe you can complete.  Some pay fairly well while most pay around 10-20 dollars an hour.

The last method is the “repairman” method.  So, basically… you sort through the for “for sale” listings and find something that’s broken that you believe you can fix.  You purchase that item and fix it and sell it for a profit…. It’s pretty straightforward but can require a lot of work.  Also, keep in mind how much the materials will cost to repair the item.  You don’t want to buy something for 100 bucks that takes another hundred to repair and can only be sold for 200.  you need to make sure you can find something that you KNOW you can FIX.

Overall… Choose the method that best suits your abilities.  There’s no sense in trying to take on a task which you know is impossible. The goal of this is to make money.  So now that you know how to make the money… Go out there and give it a try!  Good luck!

REMEMBER: ALWAYS FOLLOW THE BUYERS GUIDELINES ON CRAIGSLIST.  THESE CAN HELP YOU AVOID SCAMS AND OTHER UNDESIRABLE SITUATIONS http://www.craigslist.org/about/safety and  http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams
