Money Making

The theory or idea of making money from writing to online publication websites like Triond sounds nice, but can it really work?

Triond is a great site for those who are building a freelance writing portfolio or needs publishing experience for a job. It’s a great way to get published and have people read your work and get feedback from what people think and also to build a community, followers, friendship and recognition for your hard, dedicated work.

Many people enjoy writing, so why not make a few dollars doing what you love? But how much can you really expect to make? Use the Triond community. Leave good comments on others’ articles and they most likely will return the favor and read your work. In return the amount of views go up and the more money in your pocket. The theory or idea of making money from writing to online publication websites like Triond sounds nice, but can it really work?

They say you can make a decent living wage. How well do you need to play your cards and what should you write about to even have this kind of success. It can work just by following a few simple ideas. First write an article and submit it for publication. If or when it gets published on Triond you then can post your articles on other sites that are joined with Triond so you can increase the amount of viewers even more on sites like stumbleupon, Buzz, or Digg among many other social groups to get more exposure.

I have about 60 articles currently published on Triond and linked out to other joint sites as I mentioned above, but I still haven’t made a significant amount of income yet and it doesn’t seem worth the effort. I’ve made between 4-5 dollars as of today and I’ve been a member since October of 2008. Don’t be discouraged; as everyone who’s on this site has started out making peanuts…It’ll take time, hard work and dedication if you want to make a decent part time wage.

There are ways to increase your views and income as well. Look for places within the market that are popular or people are looking for information about. If you write what the public needs you’ll do quite well and get more views than just posting a picture or writing a recipe or poem. You can gain a large increase of viewers by either using tags to draw the people in or by the keywords that you place within your article. If you want to get a good idea of what kind of tags are popular, look at the “Hot Topic List” that can be found on your Triond website, the explore page and also on the dashboard page.

I’m still learning new things as the days go by about this site. I invite Triond, and you the reader to leave encouraging as well as enlightening comments about this subject as well as let me know what you think. I appreciate all the feedback I may receive so I can better my work to appease more of the public. Thanks for your continuing support.

I enjoyed reading your article. I have been adding new friends and love hearing comments from them on my writings. I haven’t been on here that long myself but, I go in and read other articles as much as I can. It helps gets others to read me. Keep up the good work.

I could not agree more with your article. The bottom line is it takes hundreds perhaps thousands of articles with massive networking thru dozens of sites to make a LIVING at this. The way freelance writers make money is by getting published in print magazines, web magazines and newspapers. This is how your work really makes money. Major mags pay hundreds of dollars per piece. However, it is NOT easy! The quality MUST be top-notch and you must have a good resume of quality writing. You also must be willing to deal with major rejection until you finally break through. To your point Triond can help you build that resume. It can also help you meet great people in the industry that can help fine tune your skills and give great ideas on ways to get into print. I know there are people out there who make good money through this site and others, but it takes LOTS of time and dedication. It’s difficult to do that if you have a full time career though. Anyway, that’s my two cents. Well done Holly. I enjoyed this piece. If I can ever be of help, please drop me a note!

Thanks for such a great response Peter. I definitely agree with all that you mentioned. People can’t start out writing for a place like Triond with the thought that they are going to make a lot of money. It’s not going to happen unless you have time and dedication. Yeah, you might have an article here and there that get you a large amount of views, but usually starting out, it’s going to be slow for awhile. It helps to build friendship with others on Triond and read each other work and leave helpful comments and that’s usually how anyone is going to get anywhere on here. I can’t stress it enough…. networking, networking, networking… if you want to make any kind of somewhat decent income from here, that is one thing you need to go. Put your articles on digg, stumbleupon, etc. This way, your work is on other networks and more people are exposed to it, thus increasing your income. Also it helps if you have pictures… it often makes articles more entertaining and people are more likely to view them.

It takes a lot of time to build yourself up on Triond, and I totally agree with you Holly. You can’t get discouraged because the harder you work the better your writing and earnings will become.

    Well written, well said. :)

Thanks! Glad you like this article I’ve wrote :-) you all definitely make good points that people do need to keep in mind when writing for an online publishing company like Triond.

  12. Ken Gack Says:

I’ve made the comment before, Triond is not a get rich quick tool. I enjoy it because of its ease of use, and the community. I’ve wanted to begin writing for years, but with my schedule, that has not been an easy task. Triond has allowed me to begin creating works that I feel have some value.

If you want to be successful on Triond, however, I think the most important thing you can do is create quality products. If your articles turn people off, they won’t continue reading your other work, and likely won’t return to view your future articles.

  13. Holly Sendy Says:

I agree with you Ken. People need to produce quality products in order to gain and keep their viewers. One offending article, people won’t continue reading your work.

Hi Holly. I just started on Triond yesterday. Was wanting to learn how you make money and found your great info. As far as writing ‘articles’ I do much better writing poetry. I started on Hubpages, then learned about Triond, which is so much easier to post etc. I did write an article on Hubpages and Triond, not about writing poetry, but how a certain poem came to be. I still have to learn how you make money with Triond. With Hubpages, it’s through Adsense and I already had an Adsense account.

  17. Holly Sendy Says:

I found that poetry doesn’t do as well, but you can make a decent amount though…. You make money by all the views that you get each day. Being that you just started out, it’ll be slow. I started in October last year and things were really slow until about Jan, when it really picked up and now I’m making around 5 dollars a month…. I know that doesn’t seem to be that much, but it’ll increase a little each month… if you have any other questions just let me know, I’ll be more than happy to help as much as I can.
