Anyone can do it.
I’m sure almost everyone has heard about someone finding a great deal on Ebay. It’s quite easy to get started selling on Ebay, so easy a preschooler could even do it.
You can find anything on Ebay, from handmade goods to cars and shoes to customized services.
First you need to set up a paypal account. To do this, just go to https://www.paypal.com/. It is just like a completely free online bank account. You can even link your real bank account to it if you choose, but it is not necessary. You can use your paypal account to buy and sell items on Ebay.
Next, you need to go to http://www.ebay.com/ and set up your Ebay account. You will need to provide a valid email address and your paypal information. I would recommend that you spend a few minutes, or days, looking around the site to see everything they have to offer. See what is selling and how much sellers are asking for their items so you have a guideline to go by to set your prices
Even though the Ebay account is totally free of charge, you will have to pay a small fee to list your items and a small percentage of the selling price when your item sells. You will receive a monthly statement from Ebay and can pay these fees with your paypal or a credit card.
Now you need to decide what you are going to sell. If you are crafty and already have some handmade items laying around why not sell them. Maybe you have some clothing that the children have long since grown out of. Clean out the attic and sell those baseball cards you have been saving since the fifth grade or get back some of the money you spent on that guitar that your son played once and then decided that it just wasn’t for him. You can even sell your services on Ebay. If you make customized items or build websites you can make money.
Extra Pointers For Making Money On Ebay:
- Be sure to keep track of the money you spend on supplies versus the money you are making if you are selling handmade items or specialty services.
- Try to include as much information about your item as possible when listing it so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting.
- Make sure you visit your Ebay daily to answer any questions from prospective buyers. Good communication is key in keeping buyers happy and keeping your selling status high to make even more money.
- If you offer a money-back guarantee it will show buyers that you are certain they will like your products.
- Don’t expect to get rich. Just think of Ebay as online yard sale, a way to make a few extra bucks.
