Essentially the internet is just a huge spider-like web of multiple links to all the computers in the world.
These computers contain millions of places for people to search for the information that they are looking for and your website’s information is hosted on a server which is one of those computers.
The more places on the internet that your website is linked to; the more chances there are that people will find it. Imagine that each link is like a finger that is pointing at your website, when people search for a subject that your website contains they will be guided by all those links.

Links are needed for two reasons, first of all they indicate to the search engines who it is that thinks your website is important enough for them to connect and the second reason is to bring targeted referral traffic to your website.
These are the links that show who is pointing at your website. And the way to get these links is to submit your website address to directories that are in your niche, register with related websites and include your website address in the bio section when you use article marketing sites.
You should also join social networks, take part in related discussion forums, show interest in leaving blog comments and publish a press release or two about your website. In all cases you will put your website address in the messages that you write on these sites.
Search Engines
Search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN are used by people to find what they are looking for on the internet. Submit your website address to the search engines so that they know you exist, they will eventually find you but why wait.
The search engines will look at how many links are pointing at you, if they are related and how relevant they are in terms of the information that people are trying to find.
The more related, relevant links that you have will determine how high your website will appear in the search results. The more visible you are to the people that are searching the internet, increases the chances that they will click on your website details bringing search traffic.
Targeted Traffic
From the related, relevant links you will receive targeted referral traffic; you will also receive from the search engines targeted search traffic and from the people who already know your website address you will receive targeted direct traffic.
Conversion
Conversion is where you take the targeted direct, search and referral traffic, which is your website visitors and convert them into the people who are buying whatever it is that you are trying to sell.
The rest of the process is already well known by you it means you will have increased sales and more financial assets for you to enjoy.
