This is one of the biggest webmaster concerns. They are getting the traffic, they have the ads, they are making the money, but they do not know if they are making more than his competitor… how much should you expect to make?
Online advertising business is a really cool life to live. It’s more than a business, it’s an entire life style. The competition is so much, the players so many… You really need to kick them all if you want to stay around. It’s you or them!
When you log in and check your money you see a magic number called CPM and this stands for Cost Per Mile or the revenue you make per thousand impressions.
This will definitely tell you how much money you can expect from your website, how many visitors you are going to need to get in order to reach your daily goal and most of all it’s the number that will decide which site is the best!
The average webmaster makes 2$ or 3$ per CPM. I got these numbers from many friends I know both on and off line, from blogs, forums, etc. That number is way more than 80% of all website and most of them are very frustrated because they want more, just like we all do.
The best websites are able to make a lot more than 10$ CPM and top websites are making over 100$ CPM.
Adsense Gold used to be a product that taught you how to make a website with over 700$ CPM. That product is not being sold anymore…
Basically to increase the CPM of your site you need to sell more. The more you sell, the more you will get paid per click because advertisers will want to pay you more per click and Adsense will manage your CPC better.
You may want to try to use some CPA networks to learn which changes in your site content/design are generating the most sales.
With the other CPC and CPM networks you cannot see how much you sell so you cannot know which changes are making you the best results.
After seeing which changes work the best, you might want to give CPC and CPM another try.
Make a goal to reach the 10$ CPM. Two digits are most webmaster’s goal.
