Google is a successful company, right? Well, not really.

Google is simply a huge group made of successful INDIVIDUALS. And there are lots of lessons to learn from them about success, believe me. Let’s begin.
Fail Fast

Have you noticed that Google launches almost all its products in BETA? What do they do next? They listen to the feedback, improve based on that feedback and re-launch. Google releases all its services in incomplete mode. And that, believe it or not, is one of the KEY STRATEGIES that made this company so successful.
How can you replicate this in your own life?
Do you have a plan but you’re not really sure if it is the right time to execute it? Do it. You think you should ask your friend for a favor but are not sure if he’s gonna accept or not? Do it now. After you do something, consciously or unconsciously you take a lesson from that. A lesson you can use in further situations. DO NOT WAIT FOR A PERFECT TIME TO DO SOMETHING. DO IT NOW. It is natural as you do more things to fail often. The more you fail, more you learn. That’s why Google learn the fastest, because they fail fast! I know one successful MMA fighter who once said: “I realized that the greatest striker is the one who does not have the fear of being taken down”.
You can start a business from a garage

If Larry Page and Sergey Brin started Google from theirs, what stops you from starting from your home? You want to create a business? You don’t need all those flashy offices or stuff like that. These days you actually need only a computer…and a dream. The first isn’t required always but it comes to an advantage. And if you’re reading this article I’m pretty sure you have one.
Keep It Simple…Stupid

In one interview, Sergey Brin said:
“Simplicity is an important trend we are focused on. Technology has this way of becoming overly complex, but simplicity was one of the reasons that people gravitated to Google initially. This complexity is an issue that has to be solved for online technologies, for devices, for computers, and it’s very difficult. Success will come from simplicity.”
Simplicity is also very important factor in your personal life. The more simple, the better. Don’t let people lie to you that success is complex! If they do, you can tell them what Sergey said. And I bet they aren’t richer than him. Remember that simplicity comes from taking action, the more action you take, the simpler and clearer things look for you.
There are no shorcuts

So many people think there are ‘magic pills’ to success. Real long term wealth comes from WORKING (hard and smart). If you want to be successful, you are going to face LOTS of challenges…LOTS of setbacks and failures. Google did that! You must keep going on, you must keep getting up, you must keep going. Success comes if you never give up, believe me, I experienced it firsthand.
Spot opportunities and use them
This is sort of addition to the 4th lesson. I don’t personally believe that success comes from hard work ONLY. Yeah, you can have a great amount of it by working hard but I think it is also very important that you work SMART. Spotting opportunites and using them is a part of working smart.
Back in 1998 when Google was founded there were lots of information on the web. Yahoo was the dominant search engine but their results weren’t…well…so relevant. Google appeared with their extremely relevant search engines and took the lead.
Now, I think that Google spotted and used an opportunity. It was kind of obvious that the internet will continue to grow rapidly and that people will need a search engine to find the best results. That was a great opportunity waiting to be acted upon.
It is interesting that you can find these types of opportunities EVERYWHERE. Even in hard times when the world is facing energy and economy crisis some people are looking forward and thinking how good times are coming for them. The innovator who has a great alternative energy invention and the economist who has a new working alternative system to credits. Think about it.

Good stuff - Page and Brin were, to my mind, as much in the right place at the right time as Bill Gates was way back when. The difference between them and lots of other guys was that they managed to get their message across to the masses!
