Comparison of Paid to Write Sites Wikinut and Triond

While I have been writing for Triond for more than two years I have only been on Wikinut for a few months, still, as I have been moved up to Moderator status there I feel qualified to offer an opinion in comparison.

Triond has been around for several years and is very professionally run, publishing each submission to an appropriate site, as such the finished links go to sites such as gomestic.com, picable.com, therealowner.com, and so forth. Wikinut, like many other paid-to-write sites publishes on its main site wikinut.com.

Triond has a better networking system within its site, in fact it may be one of the best of any paid-to-write sites, having a forum, and gives the users the ability to send messages to each other, and communicate. While sometimes this is abused, Triond allows users to block abusers.

Wikinut, at the time of writing, does not have a messaging system between users or a forum, which makes it hard for new people to find help if they are confused.

Both sites allow people to follow one and other, seeing a persons new submissions, and allows them to leave comments.

Both sites allow writers to recruit new users and offers referral money when this is done (at no loss of payment to the new writer).

The publishing systems are fairly easy to use on both, I do like the feature that Wikinut offers of allowing users to add additional sections. When done correctly this creates sublinks within an article, making the published link look more user friendly to viewers. Currently Triond does not do this and has broken up some of the longer articles into multiple pages, which I find less viewer friendly.

Payment

The biggest thing people want to know is which pays more. Indeed Triond stands out here with the exception of some of their lower paying sites, authspot.com, picable.com, and so forth, where the payments are lower. Wikinut pays in British Pounds, Triond pays in US Dollars, so one must covert to do an honest comparison.

Wikinut is not as fast to pay either, holding a users earnings for a month once the minimum has been reached. Triond pays in less than half that time.

The Reason to use Wikinut

Both sites do not allow plagiarism but Triond specifically only accepts original articles not posted anywhere else previously. As such somebody who wrote one hundred links on another site (for example Helium) cannot republish that info to Triond, however they can republish to Wikinut! In fact even Triond articles can be republished to Wikinut once published on Triond first.

Wikinut does request users to inform them that an article was published already, and by doing so it speeds up their moderation process and does not foul a person for plagiarism when it cannot be determined if they were the original author.

*I do suggest tweaking a former submission, checking for errors, before adding it to Wikinut, to make it fresh but this is not required.

Which is Better

Both are good, if I had to pick one (at this time) it would be Triond, but that is not to say that Wikinut does not have the potential for growth as they attract more advertisers. Lucky for me, I don’t have to pick one, and have been happy to write for both.

Don’t expect to get rich from either unless you are willing to do the work of writing great information and promoting it.

I believe Wilinut may be a good site too, but at the moment, I don’t have much time to explore other sites, so I shall stick to Triond, till one day, all my good friends run away, then I see how, haha (hope not, I plan to stay here and grow old with my Triond friends).
    :)
