Money Making

Making money with Triond is a long term investment and not a get rich quick scheme. If you think that you as a writer only need to write a few articles that will get noticed and make you an instant success story over night, then you are fooling yourself. Writing is a learned craft that this writer likes to compare to wine, “The older the wine, the better the vintage.” In other words, practice makes perfect. Don’t worry about making mistakes as by stumbling and falling, we learn and move forwards because we learn by our mistakes as to what to do and what not to do.

This writer, writes because it is what gives him great pleasure. Making money is always great but if I don’t make money it really doesn’t matter to me personally. I love to write articles as it allows me to share pieces of myself and my life experiences with others of like mind. Writing also helps me to attract a wide viewing audience; as my articles improve so does my list of followers that look for and read each article I produce. This readership grows because the readers of my articles tell their friends and it becomes evident that word of mouth produces astonishing results.

The better the article the higher the readership and quality is far better than quantity to this writer’s way of thinking. When the creator of an article decides to write his or her master piece it is always wise to do a rough draft of the article first. In doing so we can often reread our creation and correct the minor mistakes we inadvertently make along the way. It is also wise to have another read your material as the other person is not as close to your creation as you may be. The next thing to remember is that if you write about something you know well there are always others that may have the same interest as you. This is what I like to call niche writing.

Let me give you the reader a demonstration, I decided that I would move to South Carolina and once I got to my destination that I would find work and then buy a small piece of land. Once I purchased the land, I would build a log cabin made from the trees on the property. Chances are that there is a niche out there for an article of this nature. So now I have a topic, which would be: “How to Build a Log Cabin.” How many out there on the World Wide Web would be interested in knowing how to do this? You the reader of this article would be very surprised at the possible results of writing a “How To” article of this nature.

So now you need to research the material so that when you write this article you can do so with all the right information in place. The more you research the better the article is likely to be. You also at this point would find it very useful to research keywords that you may want to incorporated into the body of your article. Some great keywords as well as keyword phrases may also help your article get noticed by the search engines. Words and phrases like: log cabin construction, do-it-yourself, wilderness survival, frontier living and rustic homes would point directly to your article and the results of using these long and short term keywords our worth their weight in gold.

So now your article is ready to go and although it rakes in several views it only returns a few pennies each day and you start asking yourself, “Is it really worth it?”  In doing so, you lose sight of the long term gain from this creative piece of writing. Over the lifetime of this article and with a few revisions, you the creator will be very surprised at the revenues it has created. Now combine this article with several others of your published works and although the short term gain seems meaningless, the long term gain is extremely amazing. You also have gained a rather large list of fans and perhaps have even used the experience gained to springboard you in another direction. Let’s say writing a book or two of your own or a compilation of all your creations into a few books as well.

Just some food for thought, sometimes we cannot see the trees for the forest and by stepping back and looking yet once more, we can often benefit and gain a lot by doing so. Another thing to consider and that you may find very useful, is to ask questions or for help from others that are in your writing community. We as writers are a family and a family must always stick together and be willing to help each other where ever it is possible; in doing so we also help ourselves as well as those that come our way.

If this article is deemed worthy by you the reader, please give it thumbs up and review as well as stumble it so others can benefit from it as well? Please also make sure you click the “I Like” button at the sight as well.

An excellent article and one that all new Trionders should read! or me the most important words are patience and tenacity. As you say, people should not expect to get rich quick. I had a very disappointing first month on Triond but kept with it. Slowly but surely I developed a way to do things, made new friends (very important) and found ways to market my work. It took time – and I am still very much a learner in many respects – but with perseverence online writing has many rewards. The writing always comes first but the other reasons are many. First and foremost for me is the people I meet. Writing is by its very nature a lonely business and it is good to talk with other likeminded folk.

Oh and the money doesn’t hurt either! :-)

If anyone is writing for the goal of making it “rich”, they are in the wrong business. Writing is more of who you are than what you do and those of us who are writers can only find true happiness and joy in the written word, no matter how much money we could all make working a “normal” job!
