All About Triond Badges

Triond gives badges to reward its writers after they reach certain milestones. This began in 2010 and continues up to the present time. Writers receive badges with respect to the number of articles published, number of views (called impressions), number of referrals (people you get to register with Triond through your link) and fulfilling the requirements for the occasional bonus month specials. Let us look at the various milestones you need to reach to get Triond badges.

(1)   Triond’s Published Article Badges

You do not get badges for EVERY article that you write. There is a sequence. If you publish five articles you will get your first article badge. However, if you write six in all, your badge will still say that you have five articles. Let your mouse hover over the badge and it will reveal that you have four more articles to publish to get your next badge which we can call “the ten published articles badge.”

You need to know that these milestones do not go up by five. It is not 5, 10, 15 etc. It is 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000. As you can see, it gets progressively harder to reach those milestones but do not worry. Time flies and articles accumulate. At present, 10,000 articles is the highest badge that you can get. That is a huge amount of articles so Triond has not made any badge beyond that figure.

(2)  Badges for  Impressions or Views

Due to the fact that anyone can get 5, 10, 20, 50 views in a single day and even with a single article there are no Triond badges to mark those accomplishments. The first badge for views is when you get one hundred (100) views. If you have not yet reached that do not worry as you can reach that in no time. See The Traffic of Triond’s Sites (A Must Read).

The milestones for the impressions badge are 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, 100,000, 200,000, 500,000, 1,000,000, 2,000,000, 5,000,000, 10,000,000.

Presently there is no badge for impressions beyond 10,000,000. There are actually veteran Triond writers who have reached the million and 2 million mark. It must be noted however that from my experience Triond does not count every view that you get since I have just had 10 more views to get the next badge and then when I get 15 more views I see I need to get 20 more views or it is still stuck on me needing to get 10 more views. Is it a glitch or is it that not all views are considered for whatever reason? Your guess is as good as mine.

(3) Referral Badges

Referrals are people you refer to Triond through your link. They sign up to write on Triond and you get 10% of their earnings. There are benefits of signing up as a referral despite their 10% cut. See The Benefits of Joining Triond Through a Referral Link.

Since referrals are harder to come by as opposed to the other requirements to get badges like publishing articles or getting views, the milestones start from the fifth referral that you get. The milestones are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 200, 500, 1000. Apparently no one has 2000 referrals since the highest badge you can get for referrals right now is the 1000 referral badge.

(4)  Badges For Bonus Month Challenges

As noted before, these badges only started in 2010. There are different specifications for getting these badges. Each month is a bit different. Some have to do with the number of articles that you publish on certain Triond sites while others have to do with flagging inappropriate articles of other Triond writers or a combination of the above. The past may Challenge was about how much time people spent reading your articles. You get a monetary bonus apart from your badge. In recent times the badge requirements have caused quite a controversy as what they sometimes entail are not agreed to by many writers.

Thanks for the full list of badges. I’ve always wondered what were previous challeneges and what numbers the badges go up to. Unfortunately I haven’t recieved my August badge yet.

  8. sivequest says:

As far as Triond Referals, I believe the 10% Bonus to the referer comes from Trionds cut of the advertising not the refered writers. There are bages for 1, & 2 referals aswell.

Great share though very interesting to see just how high some writers have gotten here.

  9. shelpeare says:

Thanks for your observations sivequest. I updated the referral images to include the badges for getting 1 or 2 referrals.

  10. shelpeare says:

The badges displayed here were not copied and pasted from writers who have reached these milestones. Each badge has a url address with a figure or a month in it. Change the 100 in that address to 200 and paste it in your browser and you will see the 200 views badge. Only the ones that Triond already made will work. That is how you can know what badges are available.

    Good to know about this…

good information. I do have some of those badges.

  15. I’m learning from you.

    Good data-mine!

I was curious how far up those badges went. I’m such a child of video game culture, put “achievements” on anything and it becomes worth doing, ha.

  17. dwisuka says:

    useful information

  18. Thanks for sharing this information. I honestly didn’t realize that we got earnings from the people we referred.

  19. Joe Ram says:

    Very informative!

  20. shelpeare says:

    Thanks for the input everyone.

  21. Jerremy says:

    Nice article shelpeare.
I was wondering if you could help me a little bit. I have over 100 views in 2 days, I know it’s not much, but still 0,00 usd. I understand I need more views, but my 100 impressions badge is also not given to me. Do I do something wrong?

  22. shelpeare says:

Hi Jerremy, sorry for the late reply. That is a bit strange. 100 views should yield not only a few pennies from Triond. It could be a case of earnings taking long to show up. Why not try Google Adsense as well? They make more for you though some have had problems with Adsense in the past.
If your problems have not be resolved by now I suggest you contact Triond either through the “Contact” button at the bottom of the page or through “Get satisfaction” at http://getsatisfaction.com/triond/.
As for the Impressions or views badge I realized at the end of last year that it is not very accurate. I wrote an end of year article and I was 10 impressions away from getting the next badge and then I looked later and I was 100 impressions away from getting the same badges. There is either a glitch there or Triond does not count all your views or both.

  23. shelpeare says:

By the way, there is no message button on your profile page to contact you directly.

  24. Jerremy says:

Thank you. I already found the answer by myself, nevertheless I still appreciate it :)
    Sorry for the late reply.

Do you know how to create such a button? Because I did receive private messages already from other members.

  25. shelpeare says:

Every badge has a url address. If you right click on a badge and open on a new page you will see the url. The number of the badge is in the url. If you change the number from, let’s say 5 to 10 the badge will change too. Of course you will only be able to do that as a single badge on a fairly blank page.
Of course, everyone, that info must not be used for wrong purposes.

    Good information.
