Marketing

Have you made any of these crucial errors?

There’s a fortune to be made in internet marketing, right?  At least that is what all the most successful internet marketers are telling us.  And in fact it IS perfectly possible to make money online – you just need to know how to do it.

And that is where most people end up falling by the wayside.  There are some common mistakes that they make which very often stop them from getting anywhere.  It’s true that making money on the internet isn’t extremely easy – otherwise everyone would have retired as a millionaire by now!  But it isn’t that difficult either, provided you know how to do it.

The trick is to avoid the most common mistakes that are made by people who are trying to get a foothold in online marketing.  Read through the following pointers to make sure you can get on the right track – and stay there!

Mistake number one – people give up too easily.

It’s amazing how many people come up against some kind of obstacle and give up without even trying to get over it.  It doesn’t matter what branch of internet marketing you decide to have a go at.  It could be online auctions, selling eBooks or selling affiliate products created by someone else.  You will always come across problems every now and again.

Solution – stick with it!

Once you figure out a way around the problem you have encountered, you will have more knowledge and experience to put to good use in the future.

Mistake number two – they don’t do the required research.

You wouldn’t dive into any other business without researching the market and the background of it first.  At least I hope you wouldn’t!  And yet people do this on the internet every day.  Perhaps it is because all you need is a computer and a connection to the internet and off you go.  It’s tempting to just get started and not do any groundwork first.

Solution – research thoroughly to find out how other people have made good money online.

Is there anything that appeals to you?  If there is, research it in more depth.  Create a plan of some kind.  Jot down any notes or ideas that come to you for creating your own unique business.  It’s all a matter of educating yourself so you know where you are going.

Mistake number three – they don’t take the time to explore the market first to see what works and what doesn’t.

This really follows on from doing the research.  For example, when it comes to promoting your business you might automatically assume you need to shell out some cash to do it right.  But that isn’t true.  There are plenty of ways that you can advertise for free.  But if you hadn’t looked into the market to see which methods work and which ones don’t, you could end up making crucial mistakes and spending money you didn’t need to.

Solution – don’t rush into things.

The time you spend looking into things now will pay off handsomely later on.

Mistake number four – they expect results within days.

We’d all love to be making thousands on the internet after just a few days of working towards that aim.  But in reality it can take a lot longer than that to see real results.

Solution – be patient!

If you are rushing to make money you might well end up missing the one opportunity that you really could make a lot of cash doing.  And it would happen simply because you rushed right past it.

Mistake number five – they don’t try and make money from the things they love.

We all have passions and hobbies that we enjoy.  And the chances are very good that there are plenty of other people out there who enjoy just the same things as we do.  Why spend time trying to make money at something you aren’t interested in?

Solution – stick to what you love.

The enthusiasm will pour through and infect other people who want to know what you know about that subject.  You could be sitting on plenty of ideas for eBooks to sell, and you wouldn’t even know it!

So you see, if you can avoid these five main mistakes you will instantly be even closer to your goal of making a good living from internet marketing.

Sorry to be frank, but I had the impression to read an abstract from a self-motivational book, with a feeling that you have just followed instructions to use, such as :

    - “choose your topic of choice”
    - “replace the XXXXX by your topic of choice”

Replace “Internet marketing” by “Polar Bear research”, and your article stays the same : no real value out of it – at least, for me.

I echo the previous comment that begun with “thank you, thank you, thank you”. Your article came just at the right time for me. I was close to the edge of giving up with my own internet marketing efforts…because it can be so difficult, time consuming, and in the early days seemingly unrewarding. Your article has reminded me to be patient and this was something I was beginning to forget to do. Thank you again.

This is a very good article and to the point. I guess the major issue is that so called super affiliate make it seem so easy and a piece of cake. In fact, there are loads of new skills involved that need time and consistent effort to perfect.
The next big affiliate package will not resolve the impasse. The principles stated in this article will help you break out of the impasse.
    Good article.
