Being on the first page of a Google search result is something essential to make your business or website visible. However, doing Search Engine Optimization will cost your business something. As an alternative to Search Engine Optimization, you can market your keyword.
Maintaining your position in the first page of Google Search Result is not something easy. If you ever use Google Adword Keytools, you may find how tight the competition is for popular keywords with high search volume. Business had known about this Search Marketing Techniques for long enough time. Search Engine Optimization is not going to bring you a lot of benefit, if everyone do the same thing. It had been proven that if a business do exactly the same things that it competitors do, it wont have any advantage over its enemy. You need organize your marketing resources and flank your competitors.
The good news is, you only need to be slightly better than your competitors to take over the market. You have to do something that your competitors never did before. You have to market your own keywords.
Why is it hard to search for the right things?
Search engines had been around to help us search for relevant information around the vast internet. They helped us to find relevant informations across billions or trillions pages of information. However, it should be noted that finding specific things are still not an easy thing to do, even with search engines. Search engines can easily help you find the definition of a word, but not the right word for a definition. You have to know the right words and phrases before you can find what you want.
This is where you as business owner should play your role. You have to help your customers finding your solutions for their problems. You have to specify what your solutions exactly about, give it a unique name and market your keywords.
How to create the keywords we want to market?
You have to invent new words and phrases unique only to your own business. Take those words and phrases as keywords for articles in your website. Make sure that those keywords are catchy and logical enough for your potential customers. In my case, my website is selling low cost mathematic softwares for students, instead of trying to make my website show at the first page of Google Search Result for mathematic, I choose to market “website selling step-by-step mathematic solvers” and “step-by-step mathematic solvers” around. At the moment this article was written, only two websites are going to appear in Google Search Result if you do a search with said keywords. The first is my own website and the second is a web-directory pointing to my website.

After deciding your keywords you will have to write several articles in your website using those words and wait until Google reindexes your website. You are doing this right if your website and anything pointing to your website are the only result of Google Search.
How to market the keywords we just created?
You will have to ask people to do searches using your keywords. Join forums related to the products you want to sell ( or pay someone to join those forums ) and search for people with problems whose solution is your product. Do not spam the forum as it will only give your company a bad name. Help people only if they need your help.
This is why I choose “step-by-step mathematic solvers” as the keyword I want to market. I often go to question and answer forums where people need step-by-step solution for their mathematic problems. Some forums forbid posting commercial URsL, but giving advice about how to google up their own solution are considered acceptable. For your business, you have to choose keywords that seems natural for your potential customer to search.
Is support by an offline marketing effort necessary?
Actually it will help you a lot. You can start your offline marketing effort by teaching your employees how to use the new words you just invented in their conversation. People think they are cool when they learned new words. This way you are going to widen the number of people who use your words. If one day your words are included into Oxford Dictionary, that is the ultimate result of you linguistic investment.

Interesting! I think what I will do is invent lots of new words and have them in all my articles before anyone else. Once the words are in common currency I will be rich!
