There are so many ways we can get the best out of our own content, its all about finding the best way for you.

We spend a lot of time researching, editing, putting paragraphs in place to complete to perfect article. The article gets published and a week or so later, your dashboard shows a view count which you aren’t happy with. It could be for a number of reasons, poor quality of content or limited view content etc. Some of the time though, it can be for another reason, not promoting your articles. There are many ways you can promote your work online.

E-mailing your articles to friends and families can get your view counts to rise. Friends and family like to look at your recent work and normally give good encouragement towards your writing career. It is a good way to show off your talents and gain some much needed views for your content.

Social Networking is a big one. You can share your work on websites such as Facebook, Bebo, Myspace, Twitter and much more. On Facebook you can post your content straight to your wall which friends can view. If you have a good amount of friends on these sites and are interested in your work, this can make your views rise. If you join the Triond group of Facebook, you can post your links directly on to the wall which thousands of other Triond writers can see. One quick tip, limit your postings on these groups as if it is done too often, it can be regarded as spam.

Other sites such as Reedit, Stumbleupon, Digg can also help your page views. Through your Triond dashboard, you can share your work through these sites, all you need to do is sign up for an account. People reading your articles on these sites can also rate them, with sites having different systems.

If you are more interested in submitting to work to newspapers/magazines, send your work out with a query letter to editors when looking to do freelance work. If they like your work, you may stand a chance of joining their freelancer/stringer team to cover certain events or happenings. Always attach your business card, so they can contact you right away.

Getting the best out of our content is always a big goal for writers, which can earn them maximum revenue. Make promoting your content just as important as writing articles, which will help your writing in the future.

A few useful tips here even though I’m not a freelance journalist. I know that websites like Digg are useful but none of my articles have thrived there although I do suppose social networking websites and friends and family can give you a lot of your page views. Thanks for this article.

I agree with you on how important it is for a writer to promote his or her work. All the social networks you mention are great. I don’t belong to any but I do put in a lot of work on my personal blog and I promote my Triond work there.

http://www.writinghood.com/online-writing/money-and-the-writing-of-sexy-short-stories-on-triond/ is one of my popular articles on Triond.

Thanks Ben for posting this article. Yes, I also believe that promoting our work outside Triond is essential in getting more views. I am adding you on my friend’s list.

    Ben:

Promoting my work is something I have to do more of. My personal blog http://www.pittsburghflashfictiongazette.com sends about 250 hits to my Triond content every month. If I posted more often I know I can get the hits up to 400 + .

I’m trying to remove the bugs in my digg account. So, I’m trying to put your advice into action. It’s good advice.
