From reading posts in the Triond forums and various articles submitted by Triond users, many users seem to be unhappy with the amount of views their articles receive. There are many ways to remedy this problem, however.
- Make use of social bookmarking websites. This is the most obvious way to increase readership, and I’m sure most users are already aware of this. Social bookmarking sites include StumbleUpon.com, Mixx.com, and Digg.com and SheToldMe.com.These sites (with the exception of SheToldMe) are easily accessible though the “share” button next to each article on the “content” page.
- Promote your articles on social networking sites. If you have a lot of friends on MySpace and FaceBook, use them to your advantage. Post bulletins on MySpace and status updates on Facebook linking to your articles.
- Be an active part of the Triond community. Add friends and be sure to comment on their articles. They will usually return the favor. Also comment on articles by other users, as this will help you to make even more friends on Triond.
- Post in forums. Write about topics relevant to forums you frequent at. When appropriate, post new threads about your articles, just be careful not to spam. Also post links to your articles in relevant existing threads.
- Send articles to family and friends. If you write an article that may be of interest to someone you know, email a link to them. Just don’t over do it by sending a link to every article to everyone in your address book, as it will just end up annoying people. For example, don’t send an article about sports to someone who absolutely has no interest in the subject.
- Write about popular subjects that are actually of interest to a wide audience. For example, write about a current event rather than some obscure scientific theory. If there is a topic you really want to write about, by all means, write about it even if you don’t think you’ll get many views, but pad your content list with articles that will also be of interest to more readers.
DO NOT spam the Triond forum asking for views. This will only annoy people and they will be less likely to actually want to read your articles.
DO NOT worry about the Hot Content list. Even when articles get on the Hot Content list, they generally don’t get many more views than they would otherwise. Most users don’t pay much attention to it anyway, other than to see if their own article appear there.
