When you release a new software or a new book or even an offline product you know you have to advertise it in order to make some sales. The only problem is that the good places to advertise online are already too expensive to make a profit. Even professional have a hard time making serious money with their own products.
The solution is to advertise your product for free. First thing to do is to know some places. Social networks for example are a great place to search for people in your area that might be very interested in that product. If you open a new Cafe for example, you can pick a list of people and then send a message to that group of people.
Forums can be another good way to make some sales. If you run your own forum you might consider to advertise your product there with a banner. It’s very easy to make a banner online for free. Just search on Google for it. Forums are good only if you run the forum and it has more than 10.000 unique visitors a month, otherwise do not waste your time with it.
The next thing you can consider is to make some pages for it, Blogger.com is the best place to start, you can make a good page in just a few minutes and then Google Blog Search will index it immediately. If you search for your title it will show up there.
Squidoo.com is probably the best place to advertise for free. Make a good Squidoo page or several pages and add links to your website URL. Squidoo ranks high on Google so you see it’s easier to get traffic here than on Blogger, the only problem is you will have to spend more time here than on Blogger.
Ezine articles can send you hundreds of visitors a day if you make the right article but specially if you make lots of articles. This website has several millions of visitors per month. You can make a link for your site as your signature and then you will have all that people clicking on your URL. The average CTR is 10% so if you get 10000 visitors expect to get 1000 visitors to your URL.
Finally you can advertise your product in other people websites and all you need to do is to exchange some links or banners. If you have an established site this is a great way to get some new visitors and hopefully some new costumers.
