Everyone wants to have their articles read. That is one of the reasons that we write them in the first place. The problem is trying to find the best venue that will put your articles in front of a lot of people.

I’m sure that most of you have tried several sites to post articles. I have experimented with a few myself. Obtaining a following is a long hard process that takes up a lot of your valuable time. There is nothing more frustrating than submitting a lot of articles to a site only to see them get very few views. Your articles may be great. It could be that you just chose the wrong site for your articles. There are many different sites that you can choose, but you don’t want to spend your time writing for sites that will get you nowhere. Fortunately I found a tool that gives me valuable information about different sites.

Alexa.com is a website that gives you statistics about the websites themselves. You can type in the name of a site such as Triond and it will give many valuable statistics for that site.  It will show you the sites traffic  rank  not just in the U.S. but throughout the world. It will also tell you the date that the site went online.  It even has a chart of what countries the users come from. This is helpful in determining the audience for your articles. The one statistic I really like is the chart for downstream sites. It told me that webupon.com is Triond’s partner site that receives the most downstream traffic. There are many other helpful statistics such as keyword traffic and demographics that can come in handy also.

One of the overlooked features is the subject search box. You can type in a word or phrase and it will come up with a list of sites related to that phrase.  You can also narrow down the search to specific parameters such as the top 10000 sites. This is a great feature if you want to look for good social bookmarking site to help promote your articles.

There is no easy way to find the best sites to submit your articles. It takes some experimentation. Sometimes you will make the wrong choice, but Alexa.com can help you to find the audience that you are looking for.
