Set your priorities. Choosing between branding and search engine optimization.
Search engine optimization (SEO) has been the buzz word in recent years, and there has been much debate on whether it indeed increases web page traffic. As a form of internet marketing SEO is being used to this day as a means of promoting more web page hits. However, with the algorithms of search engines being kept secret, and more or less constantly in flux, SEO has become a questionable means of internet marketing.
The debate rages on, with the question being whether to just concentrate on marketing a brand, or to use SEO. People who recognize a certain or particular brand, and know what they want, would have little to no use for SEO. They would just type in the search engine the particular brand that they wanted, and would just get the information that they need, as they are decided on what they want in the first place. On the other hand, people who are uncertain of what they want, and are doing research, price comparisons, and the like may just stumble on the site and would have made SEO more useful.
In any case, SEO has at the very least made a mark in the internet marketing industry, but the jury is still out on its effectiveness as an actual marketing tool. The brand, and marketing it, still remains to be a lot more important, and a lot more crucial in order to be a success, as previously mentioned people who know that a brand is good or know the brand that they want before hand seek it out on purpose, without the necessity of any SEO pointing them in any particular direction.

It’s a true debate: SEO or Brand Name. I guess for %99 of bloggers who do not have a Brand Name that millions of people would know it’s all about SEO.
