Are Survey Sites Really Worth It?

Find out my personal experience with these so called "survey" sites.

As a stay at home mom I know what searching the internet in search of a way to make just a little extra cash is like. I had heard that you could get paid for taking surveys online, however in my opinion a survey is a questions and answers on my opinon about a service or product. This is not what the online survey sites are wanting from you. There are some exceptions, but for the most part “survey” sites are far from surveys!

In the beginning I researched and found a site that advertised paying for survey’s. They claimed companies would pay me for my opinion. After much thought I paid the $49.95 they were asking to start, I mean I was about to make much more right! Totally wrong! After paying the fee I was allowed entrance to the site. I soon discovered what I actually paid for, a list of sites that were for the most part free to join. Those sites were my connection to the “surveys.” So I signed up for the first one.

To my surprise this site did not want my opinion, instead they wanted me to sign up for offers. Some offers were free, others were quite expensive. They would then pay me to sign up for these offers that they claimed were surveys. They really do pay, but it’s not completely free.

I’m sure you can understand my disappointment, but I figured I would go ahead and sign up for the free ones to try to earn some of the money I spent back. I then learned that the offers I completed were not enough for me to “cashout” so if I wanted any money I would have to pay more in order to earn enough to cash out. I chose the cheaper ones and got just enough to cashout- $20.00- not even half of what I spent! I then gave up on this “survey” business.

I thought that would be the end of it but I was again sadly disappointed. Instead my phone started ringing non-stop. I received so many tele-marketer phone calls, and they weren’t just calling during the day, they called as late as 10 PM! I realized where they got my phone number and became furious! Of course there wasn’t much I could do so I changed my number.

The calls have stopped and I do not do “surveys” anymore. There are better ways to make money online that don’t involve any annoying tele-marketer calls and don’t involve any money!

I am in the process of making a plan for other SAHM’s to make money without that hassle. For now you can check out the blog http://buzz-emoney.blogspot.com (Buzz-E Money)

Don’t put yourself through spending the money, or the stress! They aren’t after your opinion they are after your information and your money!

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There are a lot of scams out there preying on innocent people as yourself. There is no way to monitor or police all of them, so we have to use common sense in dealing with these crooks. Thanks for writing this article and letting others know to be aware of these “scams”. Well done friend, and good article.
