With the intention of becoming a successful human service provider and a quality family member I have to become a better person. To accomplish and continue quality I have to assess potencies and requirements and classify regions for development as well as alteration. Achievement is connected to and interlinked amid the achievements of other people I interact with. The results of activities on my part will straightforwardly influence other individuals lives. In consideration of all just now stated this paper will devise a context for attaining and sustaining personal and professional superiority in life and assess skills I own or should have to further develop. This paper will also construct a Force Field Analysis, listing interdependent and interrelated factors of functions in human service. Finally the paper will touch on Peter Senge’s Five Disciplines, expressing how each holds meaning for me, the author of this paper.

Dynamic Influencers

The dynamic influencers, or desires (if you will), present in my life are program planning and educational planning, these are helping me to map my career goals. Further is my desire to be a better Father and Husband, by being a positive role model, in my family and community. The accessibility of ample information systems and sufficient direction from mentors, colleagues, and family support me in achieving ambitions. The aspiration to boast superior sovereignty inside directing and crafting private and practiced backgrounds keeps my heart and soul focused and yearning. I work towards further promotion within my present career, which can then aid me in greater roles inside the human services field.

Preventive Influencers

Restricted financial resources supply hindrance to reaching goals and necessitate inventive organization methods. My direction depends on my commitment and attentiveness, this is tested by further responsibilities. Work, family, and education leave little time assessment, however the requirement for assessment is validated and must be performed with my own weaknesses and strengths in mind. With regards to Senge’s disciplines it is plain that I am motivated by continued existence aspects more so than inventive dynamics, this condition restraining development and achievement.

Current position

Currently I continue my education and continue my career, both of which assist my path towards goals. I am also involved with several Human Service agencies, although I am obliged to build up reliable appraisal skills towards ascertaining the parts of my life requiring alteration to achieve goals. Presently, and much too often, I permit my life to go on without accomplishing all that I intend to, more willingly than seeking out alternative methods toward, and regions of, change.

Goals and Wishes

I find it obvious that life can be improved by changing up from a continued existence practice to a inventive practice of learning and working. A Senge’s excerpt states “There’s nothing more powerful you can do to encourage others in their quest for personal mastery than to be serious in your own quest” (Senge, 1990). I have to put an end to my short-range philosophy to a long-term philosophy to eliminate the impediment of preoccupancy of daily events that obstruct my development and success.

Senge’s Model

Peter Senge’s five disciplines model persuades inspection of all components life into the entirety of my life. Senge asserts that people are not ordained to reply to system changes, however system changes are dynamic compellers in the formation of peoples living episodes and occurrences. The five “disciplines are systems thinking, mental models, team learning, shared vision and personal mastery” (Smith, 2009).
Systems’ Thinking

Systems’ thinking occupies inspecting the Serge’s further four parts for examples of weaknesses and strengths and composing suitable corrections. This assessment aspect, I lack, in that I fail to always execute because of the frantic tempo of the responsibilities I take on. “Individuals are promoted to progress further than survival supported learning and behaviors to original learning and manners” (12 Manage The Executive Fast Track, 2010). The allegory of the “boiling toad” makes sense and has successfully fashioned a image (Taggart, 2010). Consistent with the allegory, when a person sets a toad in steaming water, the toad instantly jumps up and out ofthe water, however when placing a toad in cold water, then heating water gradually, the toad falls asleep. This allegory makes me understand that I need to deter my hastened speed, slow down a bit, and place more concentration on the models inside and surrounding my life.

Mental Models

Mental models are outlooks, along with beliefs, in what ways our society functions. Mental pictures supply a chart and direction in how we make decisions. An immense amount of pessimism and unconstructiveness is often experienced by persons involved with the human services field. Not allowing these pictures of negativity inside my mind and will is of utmost importance. Additionally I also cannot always believe in or totally own optimism, as not any one person can save the entire world. I have to inspect the typecasts, labels, and prejudice that I embrace for truths and erroneous beliefs. I have to alter my flawed thinking’s as I development through the occurrences of life. Being conscious of burnout within this field, I must assess my fastidiousness and passionate accountability for results, constructing protection and transforming these forms. By amending a view that I am characterized by a practiced position in life and work, I stop the “obstacles towards learning, growing, and succeeding” (Taggart, 2010).

Team Learning

Team learning occupies “problem solving” methods. As a family we should confer on troubles, this is of importance because this will aid us in implementing resolution to any troubles we might experience. This method entails direct and candid conversation, devoid of predetermined ideas or suppositions.

Shared Vision

Shared vision entails the configuration of individual ideals inside a group. Collaboratively, as a family, we should analyze our objectives and goals to generate a flourishing route to those. Additionally family members and I should involve ourselves with outlooks akin to our own. People with communal viewpoints can have higher growth and success as a result of amplified aspirations.

Personal Mastery

Personal mastery engages in individual development and higher knowledge. This process embraces the actions of continuous education and returning to school to increase edification. Personal mastery also includes discovering one’s own prejudices and opinions that form individual and professional life decisions. The progress of moral understanding is crucial to self-fulfillment and accomplishment. Moral understanding makes me believe that the product or service I am trying to create should not be looked upon as a product or service, that it should be viewed as a present, a present that i would be happy to receive myself. This view, I just now have begun to think, helps me to understand that my life should shape my work, not that my work should shape my life.

Conclusion

With this new thought in mind, I need to establish what pieces of my life can be left behind and what pieces cannot be left as I create my life to shape my work. In addition, I now distinguish that the capability to think in a diverse methods are more of a gain than the genuine awareness achieved.
By better understanding myself,  understanding “what makes me tic”, I am better prepared to develop in the topics discussed in this paper. To fully understand myself, and the works that I do, I must understand how I became me and understand the road that brought me to be who I am.
