Hosting

Why is web hosting so important? Because all the sites you visit everyday are hosted in a server and the company that hosts such sites are called the web host provider or service.

Web Hosting is now one of the most talked subjects in sites and magazines.

The success of a website depends a lot on the host. If the website is hosted in a place that is terribly slow and does not manage to be online all the time, the business might fail more easily.

On the other hand if the business is hosted in a very good place the site has much better chances of going somewhere.

Let’s start with the type of hosting you can purchase. Shared hosting is the most used one because it’s also the cheapest. You share a server with other websites, they all have access to the same computer resources.

Basically your website is inside a computer with many other websites, you share the CPU, you share the Hard Disk you share the RAM, you share the network speed, you share every resource.

The disadvantage is that you cannot have millions of visitors per month in such host because you risk having your website slowed down by the host company.

In that case you need to upgrade for a VPN which is a virtual computer just for you. You have much more resources but you pay nearly 30 times more for the service. Instead of paying just 4$ per month you can pay as much as 200$.

Of course that your website will be much faster than in shared hosting and you can even change some definitions of your virtual machine.

Finally you have the dedicated service. In this case you will have a computer just for you with all the CPU power just for you and all the RAM just for you.

This is the most expensive one costing at least 300$ and this is the cheapest of all because it can be as high as 400$ or 500$.

Recommended only for websites with millions of visitors per month!
