Aiming at a Wider Audience

When you want to make your mark as a writer, it pays to consider as many different options as you can find.

When I put my e-books on a free promotional week in the first week of April, my only request to those taking up the offer was that they PLEASE post reviews on my amazon author page after reading, so a month on, it seems reasonable to me that I might expect – from 600 downloaded copies – to see a few reviews showing up, but to date I have had just the one, from fellow writer Nicola Easby, for which I thank her profusely. Check out her stuff on amazon, because she is a good writer.

That begs the question for all of those out there who claim to be fans – and took advantage of the offer – why you have so noticeably failed to either read my books, or to be bothered with making comments after you did. If that is the case, in what way do you see this as fair, when all I ever asked for was honest opinions? I am big enough to accept that not everyone will like my fiction, but if readers fail to tell me, how will I ever know?

I REALLY want to get some feedback on this topic, because I feel I have a right to be aggrieved, when I go to the trouble of making my work freely available, but do NOT get the courtesy of a simple review from readers. The fact that the earnings at triond have improved dramatically over the past week or so – due to YET another google algorithm change, I believe – is very encouraging, but it has not prompted me to increase my rate of submissions, because I get so downhearted at the knowledge that older posts NEVER get looked at.

That is why I have now taken to very enthusiastically posting older stuff of mine at wikinut – the fact is that I get far more views on there, for everything I post, than I ever manage on triond, and even if the payment system there is pretty poor, it still represents extra money for your efforts. There are those who say their experience with the site was not that good, but I find it very friendly and accessible, so I recommend your going to this URL - http://www.wikinut.com/in/ughfl/

Having taken a look for yourself, feel free to sign up, because you will be expanding your on-line riting profile and in some respects spreading your writing wings as well.  I would also strongly recommend becoming a member at great new social site matesgate - http://www.matesgate.biz/refs?tonyleather

because there are so many benefits of membership that it is hard to keep track, and again it is a really friendly place to spend time.  Just to let you know, my e-books are STILL available – no longer free but at GREAT prices – from amazon at my author pages - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006KXE4O4   and

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006KXE4O4   So do go check them out and buy yourselves the cheapest night’s entertainment you could ever wish for. Just in case you have no kindle device, go to this URL for an explanation of how you can get by without one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_ipad_mkt_lnd?docId=1000425503

Finally, I would REALLY like to have lots of you comment on this post, whatever you might have to say, because the lack of feedback – or even communication of any kind at triond drives many of us mad with frustration. I know that what piques the interest of the readers is fresh content, but what is wrong with ACTUAL writing?  Do let me know

I am simply overwhelmed by the amount of information that is being put out, and the number of books lined up for reading, and trying to do some writing myself. I am also technically incompetent, so am playing catch up here. All best wishes to you.

Its a good article and thanks for the links.
it is difficult to get feedback on your work and very annoying when thats all youve asked for.
I wish you good luck and hope that people start to realise the importance of comments and feedback for to writers.

Comments are important they keep us going, at least me they do. I started writing on wikinut ,and have gotten more comments there in a month than i ever did any where else. Maybe the people there are more literate??
