How to Download and Install a Game Torrent on Pc

Step 1: Getting a client

Before you even download the torrent, you will need something that can open it, and preferrably keep up with all your torrents that you are downloading or have downloaded. There are quite a few clients out there that do this well, but the arguably two most popular are BitTorrent µTorrent. You may have heard or hear a lot about them and which one is better, but they are nearly the same, except for size. BitTorrent is a larger file that comes with a toolbar, coming in at 5.8MB, while µTorrent, “a (very) tiny BitTorrent,” only at 874.39KB. µTorrent is a significantly lighter program, but they both function the same. I suggest using µTorrent, but that is a personal preference. Choose one and download, which does not matter. (Note: There is a paid version of both, just download the free one.) Install it and the toolbar if you wish, and keep it up for later use.

Step 2: Downloading a program to run .iso files

Many gaming torrents require installations that come in an .iso file extension. An .iso file is a file that is like a disc you put in the optical drive on your computer. Things like games that actually require discs to download can be put into a .iso file so you can run it and install all the files for the game. To run these kinds of files you will need a program that creates a virtual drive on your computer. A virtual drive is like your regular CD drive, except it is on your computer and doesn’t require a disc. The .iso is the disc, and the virtual drive is the tray. Again, there are many programs to do this, but I personally recommend DaemonTools. You can also burn .iso files to an actual disc using DaemonTools, which could come in handy if you ever get a new computer and decide to torrent your OS.

Step 3: Getting the .torrent file or magnet link

Now, for actually getting the torrent. Open up your browser, preferrably Firefox or Google Chrome for easy file management and access. Go to a trusted website that hosts torrents and downloads such as ThePirateBay.se or demonoid.me. Look for the game you want. No matter what site you’re using, make sure to read the comments and be wary of what other people say: it could be a virus. If you’re on ThePirateBay, try to find a torrent of what you’re looking for with a skull under the title that signifies that the person is a VIP or Trusted. One thing to look for is one with a large number of seeders, because the more seeders there are, the faster the file will download. Another thing to look for if you want to play the game is a cracked version. You need a cracked version(or one that comes with a crack) so you don’t have to enter the serial key to play and install the game. Now once you find the file, either click on Get Torrent or the Magnet Link. It should download it and if you’re in Google Chrome, click on the file at the bottom to open it in µTorrent and start the download if you downloaded the torrent, and if you clicked on the magnet link, choose to open it in µTorrent. If you’re in Firefox, open the torrent from the download location, and if you clicked the magnet link do the same. Congratulations, you now have downloaded your torrent!

Step 4: Installing the game

After you’ve found the game you want and the download has started, you probably should go do something else for a while. Games are generally large, and therefore take a while to download, especially if there’s not a whole lot of seeders. You must have an empty disc drive to mount! Most of the time, it comes with instructions on how to install it, and any specific extra instructions you need. If not, just mount the .iso files and install the game. The crack should have instructions no matter what. If it doesn’t I can’t help you without seeing what everything is/looks like. Once the game is installed, you’ll probably want to find the location of it and make a shortcut, put it on your desktop. If you followed the instructions that came with it, just click on the shortcut and it should be ready to play! If something doesn’t work or goes wrong, I recommend you go to the comments page and look there for a solution, if not post one with your problem. Usually, the author’s and other people are more than happy to help you with your problem. If the game comes in a ZIP file, which it sometimes does, it will usually have a simple custom installer that you just run it and it installs the game.

As a final note, when it is done, the file will seed. You are helping other people download the file, making it faster for them like they did you. Try to seed the file for as long as you can to help other people. It does take up bandwidth, and after a while you should stop it by right clicking then clicking stop.
