E-mail

An easy way to rid yourself of spam and junk mail without having to delete your e-mail account.

Have you been pulled into one of those “free stuff” or “work from home” traps that leave your E-mail account full of unwanted junk mail? Chances are if you do, it will soon grow to have hundreds of messages a day…and all of them are junk. Most people just delete their account out of exasperation, but you don’t have to do that. You can fight back.

It does take a bit of effort, but in the end you don’t have to go through the whole mess of deleting your account and starting a new one, just for the same chain of events to occur.

All you have to do is open your junk mail and scroll to the bottom of the message. Somewhere in the fine print, there will be a link to unsubscribe to the message list of the website. Click on the link, type in your e-mail address, and click submit/unsubscribe/whatever the button says. It’ll take a few days for the mail to stop showing up from the destination, but in three to five days your request will have been processed.

If you do this for as many items as possible, your junk mail will be reduced drastically, and eventually you may actually be free of the annoying stuff.

Agreed its a good idea, and it works. But this only happens with the junk that you must have subscribed for in the first place. What about the random forwards that you receive, about things that you were never interested in knowing! Emails from unknown people…they might contain some virus, its best to delete such messages without ever opening them. And block them, or mark them as spam.
