1. Use a dedicated email
Try using a dedicated email alias address, such as Yahoo ort Google account, when posting to discussion list, news groups and message boards. If you start to receive a lot of spam at the address, replace it with another one.
2. Be careful
Be careful who you give your email address to. On internet forms, leave the email address space blank unless you are sure the recipient can be trusted. If it is required, use your email alias account.
3. Don’t unsubscribe from spam that you receive
Many spammers use unsubscribe requests to verify which email addresses are legitimate. If you are receiving unwanted email from reputable company, you can safely unsubscribe.
4. Don’t use free email
If you have business purposes to email, don’t using free email services. Many free email providers sell addresses to spammers, advertisers and other third-party marketers.
5. Don’t reply
Don’t reply to or forward chain letters that you receive by email. The addresses found within chain letter may become spam targets.
6. Don’t sign up
If you found any service that claims to be a “Do Not Spam List.”, don’t sign up. These services maybe set up by spammers to collect addresses.

“4. Don’t use free email”
Hotmail is a great mail service which deletes most (if not all) spam.
I’m using it 4 years without spam, I think the most important thing now is that you take care who to give the adresses.

I find the fact that spammers are still there quite funny. What they do simply make the products they advertised to get bad names in the eyes of everyone who happen to receive the spam.

Great tips. Number 1 is my favourite: it’s the most effective. My junk email has a couple thousand unopened emails whereas my real email is spam free.
