Nobody likes to find their mailbox full of junk mail. First of all it’s a waste of trees and good money. You know who pays for all that postage and paper. It is the receiver, of course, in higher prices for all services. It’s easy to stop the aggravation with a few phone calls or visits to the perpetrators web sites.

Who wants to find all the junk mail every time the mail box is opened? We are never going to accept all the credit card offers, insurance policies, telephone services offered. This junk mail gives you more paper to recycle and such a waste of postage and trees. If you are tired of finding your mail box full of advertisements, there is a way to stop it cold turkey.  Below you will find telephone numbers and web sites that will clear your mail box of junk mail for good.

To stop the  preapproved credit cards and insurance offers call: 888-567-8688 or visit:optoutprescreen.com. You will have to give them your Social Security number.

To stop all the unwanted catalogs and marketing brochures in your mailbox visit: dmachoice.org, at the same site you can elect to reduce the number of email solicitations you receive.

If you are ordering something from a website and you don’t want your email filled with future span, register for a temporary email account at: guerrillamail.com. It’s free and you will be able to use the address to receive messages for 15 minutes and send them for 60 minutes, after that, it never existed.

To sign up to stop the delivery of unsolicited phone books, go to yellowpagesgoesgreen.org.

To stop Financial Institutions from sharing your saving and spending habits information with other marketers, banks and businesses, call to say no.
