There are several email services on the internet where you can create an email address! But in this article, I am going to help those people who want to create an email address but don’t know how.

It can be very confusing when you first come across this. Like myself, I had no clue what was being said to me! But eventually, I received help from others who have created one already.

Recently, my friends were struggling to create an email address and they asked me to help them. My help had worked out very well and now I am going to teach you.

Pick an email service!

The first step you should take when creating an email address is to pick an email service. Below are a few that are active today with over millions of accounts worldwide!

• Hotmail
• Yahoo
• Gmail (google mail)
• AOL

However, due to the fact that I have a Hotmail account, I will be showing you the steps in how to create an email address on this site.

Step 1

To begin, please visit the website at hotmail.co.uk and you will find the page in two halves. The right half is the login area and the left half is where you will notice the signup button located below “DON”T HAVE A WINDOWS LIVE ID?’

Step 2

After clicking the signup button, you will enter a page where you should fill in all the necessary details!

The first important information you need to fill in is the very first one which asks you to enter an email address. This email address is what you will own forever as long as the site exists and no one else can signup to the site with your email address.

For example:

Let us say that someone signs up to Hotmail with their new email address:

Example2009@hotmail.co.uk

If the email address is available, it means that you can have it because no other user has this email address. However, if it is not available it clearly means that someone has got that email address.

Remember to be creative in your email address but do not forget it. Sometimes a person can forget their email address because it was too complicated. Make it simple and easy for yourself!

As you can see, the above email address is not available but other available suggestions are there to help you pick.

Step 3

After you have picked an email address, fill in the rest of the details such as a password, your name, country etc…

What if I forget my password?

It is likely to forget your password as it has happened to me, you can retrieve it by either answering a secret question or using an alternate email address. If you do not have one then choose the “secret answer” option. You can choose the options during the signup process under the password filled in boxes.

After filling all the other details in then here is where you finish. You have your own email address and you can start sending and receiving messages from your inbox!
