Houseparty recently sent out spam for Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates. The problem with this spam was it had false advertising located in it. Claiming that if you joined you would take part in their “refer a friend program.”

Are you ready to earn some cash and accumulate points redeemable for gift cards? As a valuable House Party member, you previously signed up for HouseLab because you wanted to share your opinions on brands and products you love.

Schlesinger is a trusted partner of House Party and they’re looking for people in your area to participate in research studies. All you need to do is register with them and you’ll be able to participate in a variety of ways:

  • In person – at one of their friendly and informal focus group venues
  • Online – from your computer at times that are convenient for you
  • Via phone- at a time you pre-arrange with them

Once you complete their simple registration form you’ll be contacted directly by Schlesinger.

As a thank you for your time, Schlesinger will give you real rewards for your opinion, not only for participating in research studies, but also when you’re active in other ways:

  • Refer-a-Friend campaigns
  • Profile updates
  • Other activities

If you don’t hear from them soon, you may still be contacted by HouseLab or Schlesinger for future opportunities.

I contacted help@houseparty.com and of course heatherc@inspiredopinions.com The problem is Heather doesn’t actually read any emails sent across her desk, and since Aug of 2011 she has been lying to me about the refer a friend program being “disabled or not”. Each email I have is her going one way then the other. Claiming that it’s in your account at the top blah blah blah. Which of course is not the case since it’s been disabled. After ordering Heather to log in and actually look instead of lying her story quickly changes about how “Oh yes it’s been disabled.”

After contacting Houseparty over this issue Heather finally replied saying how just THIS week the refer a friend program was disabled. After point blank lying to me yet again I went over her head and contacted the CEO. I FINALLY got someone who responded.

Her name was Susann Hussel who replied:

Our Refer-a-friend program is reserved for verified and active respondents that proved themselves to be trustworthy on different occasions. Once a respondent went through several steps of verification and has been identified as an active member of our community, we will invite this member to participate in our Refer-a-friend program. We consider this program to be a reward and an opportunity for our most active and engaged members to earn Opinion points.

Our Terms and Conditions state the following:
From time to time Schlesinger Associates, Inc. may offer or conduct panels, sweepstakes, points programs or other promotions or programs (”Services”) in connection with this Site. All such Services shall be subject to any additional terms, conditions, rules, guidelines or agreements that are provided to you at the time of accessing such Services. Schlesinger Associates, Inc. reserves the right to change point awards or other incentives offered in connection with these Services.

Houseparty has been very nice, and professional about looking into this issue, because of course they don’t want to be the party that has been pulling a scam over their members eyes. Houseparty is a legit company, however sending misleading spam is not. I respectfully asked them to send a correction letter, or retraction. They have yet to do so. I am profoundly disappointed in HouseParty for not stepping up to correct the misleading advertising given to them by Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates.

Heather of Inspired Opinions has blocked my email address, showing just how professional she can be.

So you decide, Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates fraud or professional company?

IMPORTANT:I would also like to note after this event Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates threatened me with ‘further action’ as to silence me educating others. Which proves even more so, that Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates have been caught performing a fraud of misleading advertising and instead of addressing that issue, thinks they can remove the person who caught them. Let it be known, I don’t own, or operate this website, and also my terms of service clearly states: Simply because Annika’s list a website, does not mean we are promoting them, or authorized to act upon their behalf, or it’s interests. I contacted Inspired Opinions aka Schlesinger Associates on my own behalf, not my business. And there is no law, imagined or fact that can prevent me from sharing the truth.
