Here is how to solve the problem of Gmail speed and response time.
In one of my last articles I talked about the importance of leaving no file in your hard disk even if you had to have them at hand. The advantages of having your files in a common place like your email made hard disks completely redundant in data storage. Now with your data in the cloud there is no need to worry about data security, storage, maintenance, backup, costs of operation and maintenance costs and so on. Your precious is in the safe place.
Now since I moved my data to my email there was some magic in my life, no exaggeration here. When I want to listen to my favourite music, all I have to do is to go to a computer or mobile phone, access my email, search for the music and then I am listening to it. When I want to get important documents or data they are all in my email and so on. I know I need to keep my password in a very safe place and my password is in a super safe place and needs no manual login to access my email so it’s double security.
Now one problem that started to exist and was not there before was the revolution in hard disks. You know that today you can have a computer hard disk as much as four times faster than the fastest regular hard disk. I am talking about the SSD. Some people think twice about moving online because of the new speed they have right now, but if you still have Windows XP I urge you to install Google Desktop and leave it to index your Gmail data. This gives you full computer power and all your data remains in the Gmail cloud. This gives you the best of both worlds. Too bad Windows Vista does not fully support Google Desktop and Google does not care about it, nor they reply to the comments you can make after removing the Google Desktop.
